Highly edited, babbling of an out of the closet Gibson Guitar lover. I also change a set of strings and put some tone polish on a lovely Gibson Custom guitar. #GibsonGuitars #onlyaGibsonIsGoodEnough

“Gibson’s are overpriced” ..... then gets into a $60,000 truck that will be worthless in ten years... now we are talking overpriced. I work on cars everyday and see what they are made of... radiator supports made of plastic, fenders made out of tin cans, a bunch of computers that WILL malfunction... hell, u can’t change your own battery without setting off a bunch of codes. They will never hold their value like cars from 50 years ago... yet my Gibsons will still be worth about the same in ten years.

Great vid man. I agree with you 100%. Just because Gibson put out a crap video doesn't mean that their guitars suck. The number of people who are saying that they are selling their Gibsons because of the Agnesi video is ridiculous. The funny thing is, if they are truly selling their guitars, that means that PEOPLE ARE STILL BUYING GIBSON GUITARS! What the hell is the point? I say if they really want to make a statement, they smash em' with a hammer!😆

I love it!!!!!! Yes I love my Fender Stratocasters (and my future Telecaster!!), but since I bought my first Gibson, I was hooked!!!! I’m a lefty and it can be hard to find a quality guitar that I want. Yes there plenty of single cut guitars that resemble the iconic Les Paul shape and I’m sure they could be just as good or even better, however I always felt that I would always feel like I’m settling on something that is not exactly what I want. I’ve always believe that the price a person is willing to pay for a guitar is their personal choice. I’m a firm believer of buy what you can afford and if it is over your budget, shops are willing to work with you like layaway or like American Musical Supply that has payment plans. I’ve spent over $3k on a Custom Shop Strat which the shop let me pay over time. I just recently paid off my 2018 Gibson Flying V that was $1400. I’m not rich. I’m a working stiff like most everyone else, but I love guitars and I find a way to buy them without sacrificing my household. Gibson, like Fender in my opinion are the best guitars for what I like to play. The fact that they make left handed guitars is more of a reason why I will stick with them. Yes the”Play Authentic” video was not a great idea, but I can look past that screw up and know for a fact that when I play my Gibsons, I have a quality guitar that works for me. There’s a good chance I’ll buy another one in the future. Rock on Nelson thanks for the video and keep playing those Gibsons!!!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Law of averages,...some guy named Michael Jackson said it best,...the more you're liked,.... the more you're hated,...if Gibson was'nt being hated on,then it's time to worry,those haters can go play their unimaginative,run of the mill,copies of one of the very,very few leaders in the guitar making business. I would love to hear their hit list of songs written, and performed, on their aforementioned pieces of,...(well you know).Yes sir we all know there is'nt enough room on this entire page to even begin,..to even begin! naming even a fraction of the songs that have been written on Gibson guitars, and the artists that have been inspired by the Gibson guitar brand,... inspiration is a big deal,...Gibson inspires!, long live Gibson guitars! IF!..IF!..your guitar inspires you, more power to you! But we all know, IF is a mighty big word!...IF your Aunt had balls,...she'd be your Uncle! Again!,..long live Gibson guitars!

I picked up a 2009 epiphone sg from a pawn shop for 150 and I need some help. It has bad neck dive and i got a better strap and it fixed it, but its still pulls down. Will switching to kulson 3x3 tuner from the current grover rotomatics make a difference? The other issue is with electronics. The jack has a short and so does the front pick up. which is not a big deal. The neck feels great on the guitar and I like it. I may replace the pick ups since the stock ones are muddy.

I like all my guitars - no matter the brand. I just don't believe anyone has to spend $1,000+ to sound good. And after 40+ years of playing, I never will. I've owned and played Gibsons, Fenders, etc. and I was more impressed with copies that I modded. And it's pretty obvious who's been bought off on KZbin. Corporations know people aren't listening to the radio or watching TV now. It's the Internet where everyone is - especially on Social Media. So, they buy people there.

Welcome back Nelson. Glad to see a new video. I do not share your enthusiasm for Gibson. They are not my cup of tea for many reasons, but, they are personal ones such as having a hard time playing them, preferring single coils and so on. I do think however the video that was put out by them is a lot more than just unfortunate. It was down right shameful. I wouldn't want to buy one after seeing that. I think in order for them to recover, they need to focus on 3 simple things. Give up this "life style" brand crap. Invest in better QC (most companies should) and listen to your customer base. If they did that, I think they could salvage the situation.

Hi Nelson, glad you're back. I have to disagree with you about what you said about fender guitars being not recoverable though. They are built to be modular, you can literally change out any piece or part of a strat or tele, so what did you mean specifically? Where as on a Gibson if you snap the neck off in the middle of the neck it's fubar unless you want to pay for a new neck to be glued in. Don't get me wrong I love set neck and neck through guitars as much as the next guy but I would say from the standpoint of an average guitarist that fixes his own stuff, I'd say the fender would be far easier to fix.

Hi there, I know I am a bit late with this but here goes, I agree in part with what you are saying and I think what you are trying to say is beauty is in the eye of the beholder I love both Gibson and Fender guitars but if I had a choice I would most likely select a Fender mostly based on passed experience and I was introduced to Fender before Gibson and so from a visual perspective it just looks like something I am more comfortable with, now both manufacturers have there quality control issues and I guess that sort of comes with the territory when you're trying to sell as many guitars as those companies need to sell to survive and it becomes all about how many you sell instead of the quality you sell then of course you have these sort of problems. Both these guitars have structural issues Gibson have a head stock problem Fender have a bolt on neck and while the week head stock is an issue damn is it pretty with those beautiful inlays and while a bolt on neck is not the best way to transfer resonance into the body but damn is it convenient, again pro's and con's to both. The bottom line is with KZbin we have learned to listen to anyone that uploads a video regardless of skill level and take whatever they are saying as the truth and in so many cases what they are saying is pure BS as a guitar player the only deciding factor that should make you want a guitar is how it feels when you play it and if you absolutely love the feel of the guitar then you suddenly are more motivated when you play it and at this point who gives a crap what name is on the head stock it is your guitar and I honestly believe that is you buy a guitar purely with your eyes then you will get what I am talking about when you learn to actually play. You also talk about Fender guitars continually going out of tune perhaps you should try a solid bridge version and maybe you should get an American Fender not a Chinese or Indonesian Squier we know the Squier's have tunning issues thanks to their cheap and nasty tuning machines. Love your channel I like the honesty in your video's I am sort of like you just with a lot more swearing lol nice lookin SG. Greetings from South Africa.

People who can afford Gibson will continue to buy Gibson guitars. I don’t understand why they want to pick on the little guy. Bottom line is if you want a Gibson you are going to buy a Gibson. Not everyone can afford 1500.00 plus guitar. So who are the brands like Dean, or whoever else hurting. I think a beginner would be best served buying a lower line manufacturer to really decide if they want to really play, then if they do then they can make their choice on the brand they want. I recently bought a Martin D-28, because I have always wanted one, and now I’m in my late 40s, I can afford too. I also own a Gibson Les Paul, I bought it because everyone else had one. I really don’t like it, it is just too damn heavy. I also own a Gibson 339 and I love it. Personally my favorite guitar is a Squier cv strat. It just feels good too me. So everyone has to play different brands and make their decision based on what they like. All brands have good and bad. I just find it hard to believe a company like Dean is hurting a company like Gibson. People buy Dean and other lower brands because of the value, a lot of the smaller company’s make pretty nice guitars for a lot less money. They are great guitars for that group of consumers.

I was the biggest Gibson hater last year after hearing all the crap QC horros and complaints. Now, I bought a les Paul traditional and recently a custom shop 63 ES-335 reissue and I’m the biggest Gibson fanboy. They simply are the best guitars I’ve ever played and feel amazing. I still love my tele and epiphone, but they just don’t match my Gibsons.

Cool, in what way exactly are they "the best" guitars ? Not trolling you, I really want some real details and facts. I've been playing Epiphones for 15 years and have no problem with them,
@yestoES3555 жыл бұрын
DB Cisco well they are personally to me, the best I’ve played. I still love my epiphone and have no problem with them or high end squires. To me I instantly noticed the quality and detail that surpassed all my epiphones. I’m talking about the true historic custom shop models, not the normal production line USA gibson. I’m sure those are great too. the finish and binding, also the single piece bodies are awesome. I prefer the nitro finish over the poly that all epiphones have. I’ve witnessed some QC horrors with Gibson but I also found the true gems that have 0 flaws and play like butter and sound amazing. Again, everyone has their opinions. I find fender custom shop strats and tele to be identical, but I’m not a fan of single coils.
@yestoES3555 жыл бұрын
DB Cisco I also see guitars as an investment for myself for the future. Epiphones wont hold their value sadly no matter how many upgrades done to them. I’m only 19, so I plan on keeping my guitars and passing them down my family eventually when my time comes.
@DBCisco5 жыл бұрын
@@yestoES355 I have no desire to ever have a custom shop guitar again. I have a Martin Custom Shop only to select the materials I desired and the bracing I wanted. I have since found a luthier who has made me two awesome acoustics that are just as good for a tenth of the cost. I honestly wish I never bought the Martin Custom. A huge waste of money for a "Name on a headstock" IMHO. I am not bashing Martin, I own several including an electric.

@@yestoES355 Well many of my guitars have doubled in value over the last five years so I get your point.
