But lots study shows us that ultrasound also can impact on visualising the sound in different way...In nature, we don't hear sound as pure sine wave, we take it as a harmonics ... lots of musical instruments can produce ultrasonic sound that can give us different kind of musical test(may we can't hear ultrasonic as a sine wave , but in harmonics , it might give different colorization to the preceiving sound)..

Ultrasound perception require further and deeper studies. It causes brain response. But I never meet proper researches, that learning corelation between the response and perceived sound quality.

@@painpeace3619 no colors you can accept in the range beyond your visual perception. So with the sound. The only thing hi res can alter is dynamics when you process it with a compressor for example. But the ultrasonics can't influence your music perception in the real world, because it is always masked with the hi mid range spectrum which our ears are most sensitive to.

96kHz 24 bits is a reasonable compromise where you can reproduce audio to 20kHz with precise level and phase superior to human hearing. Vinyl playback is similar to 12 bit PCM on dynamic range and twice as many bits is a massive improvement over vinyl (not twice as resolving, but up to 72dB more resolving on level). Of course perfect phase would be awesome, but there is no such thing when your sound waves get through your room from different drivers hitting your eardrums at a given distance. DSD was cool decades ago but with modern audio architectures in need for DSP capabilities, DSD has zero chance of winning in other than very niche audiophile setups. DSD is also not a real thing from ADC to DAC as 99% of all music is mastered in a studio where you can't maintain the bits as they came out of the ADCs. You either need to convert the stream to PCM or analog for the mastering process and then you can convert back to DSD again...LOL. Every such conversion is lossy and not maintaining the bits as they were originally produced. PCM will continue to grow with more audio systems going digital supporting lossless high definition streaming.

You might be interested in my AES paper on the whether hi-res audio is perceptible. 500 participants listened to native high-res audio and the same files downconverted to CD res and couldn't tell them apart.

One of central ideas of the video is inability of comparison abstract hi-res and abstract CD. Unfortunately, such experiments show abilities of tested equipment and its state only.
@markwaldrep51433 жыл бұрын
@@YuriKorzunov It is absolutely possible to do a comparison. I did it and the results convinced me and 500 audiophiles that there is no perceptible difference regardless of age, equipment, experience, or anything else. Hi-res audio was developed as a marketing scheme to re-energize the sales of existing catalog. I was on the High-End audio board of the CEA when the campaign was launched.

Thank you for kind words. If I don't mistaken, foobar should show DSD64 stereo and bottom of the main window. Do you play FLAC or WAV in DoP format? samplerateconverter.com/educational/what-dsd#what-dop

Hi Yuri thank you for all the responses you give on Quora, there are very educative. I have always wondered how to build the UI (user graphical interface) of my DIY( Do It Yourself) Pie hardware. I have always wanted to program my mixer software but I don't know what program to use. I know C# and some C++. Someone suggest that they use Photoshop to create the interface but never said how to do it. If that is true how do they do it?
@YuriKorzunov5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Serge. Thank you for kind words. To create UI scheme, I'd suggest use Microsoft Visio or Libre office (Draw Drawing). Also GIMP or MSPaint may be helpful to final editing. In Mac I also use its standard graphical viewer with editor.

you forgot myth #8 , the most important of them all which is usually being referred as myth #1 - humans ears can't hear more than 30dBi. btw, any advice of where i can download more ram?
5645kbps is 2 ch x DSD64. foobar should show DSD64. May be you use DoP mode to feed DAC? I don't remember exactly, how foobar works in this mode, but that mode, probably, displayed as PCM (352800hz). samplerateconverter.com/educational/what-dsd#what-dop
