I’m so happy you made a video on this! I’d seen this around and was extremely interested but disappointed no one had really made videos/reviews on it. Until now! It would be amazing to get maybe a 6 month update to see if it’s still working well for you. Great videos, I enjoy them a lot! Keep up the amazing work!

Caution! As a former manufacturer of horse trailer and an active trail rider , beware of the tear drop on your trailer’s fender . Placing feed or water buckets close to it may cause a real bad accident. I have seen on more than one occasion a horse to low get its halter or led. Line under the fender tear drop and then panic cut the halter and it’s face . That fender with a horse pulling in panic will cut the strongest led rope and certainly the face . Just beware it can happen . Not a pretty site and may require some repair work on your trailer . Good Luck , I enjoy your videos you communicate well . Poppa Jones

The HiTie is really popular with the endurance and NATRC crowd; I've seen them in use for 7+ years and they've been in use even longer than that! There are a few ladies who make custom ropes with quick-release pins should something happen to your horse where you can pull and, voila! Horse is free! The bungee makes me leery as they do snap and can cause injury to your horse.

I hope this product works well for you. There is no perfect way to contain a horse when camping. I use a picket pin and about a 20 foot line. That gives the horse a 40 foot diameter circle to rest, eat, and take care of their bodily functions. You can make the line longer or shorter, depending on available space . Sometimes I attach the line to a halter, other times I attach the line to a hobble on the front leg. Once a horse learns how to keep their legs from tangling in the line, picketing works very well.

So true, no solution is perfect. I’m glad to hear picketing/hobbles works so well for you! 🤠👍🏼

I just purchased the same product, one thing you didn’t do, is adjust the “anti vibration” bolt. The directions state it should be facing down, not up like it came. But how do you get it out? I was hoping you would show that.
@HappieronaHorse Жыл бұрын
From what I can see on the instruction flyer, the bolt faces down when the pole collapses to the right and up when it collapses to the left. Mine came preassembled and the bolt was in the correct position. If yours isn’t you should probably call Easy Care Inc or the vendor your purchased it from. It looks like Easy Care does sell anti vibration bolts for $25. I’m guessing that switching it would destroy what looks like a metal lock washer on the end? Hence the need for a replacement. Good luck!

Love your videos, you make trail riding and horse camping seem accessible. How do you find places to do it? I'm from the UK where we have bridleways (paths through private land that you can ride), what's the law like in California for trails and camping?
@HappieronaHorse3 жыл бұрын
Very interesting! We have state and local parks funded by our taxes. Some have horse camping specific sites you can reserve. Thank you for the compliment, glad to have you joining us!

Stephanie, just be careful. I watched your video several times. You have it folding to the front of the trailer. You might hook it on a tree branch and tear it off. Damaging the trailer costing you big bucks to fix. Folding it to the rear doesn't look like it's an option without interfering with the rear door. I love your channel. Just hate to see you have an accident. Best wishes to you and fame.

U can point the unit down to the ground. Or u can point it like this lady did down the trailer.
@summershowalter65323 жыл бұрын
Could you use it and an anchor point to high line?
@HappieronaHorse3 жыл бұрын
I would be concerned about the tension a high line requires. I personally would (and have) use the welded hooks for tying horses on the inside on my trailer as a high line point instead.
@kaycat95923 жыл бұрын
Do you leave him overnight like this? Can he lay down with it? Or do you need a pen if your staying overnight? If he spooks will it release him? I would be so worried all night. I so want to go camping with my horse sounds so fun
@HappieronaHorse3 жыл бұрын
Yes he stays overnight. Some horses lie down but Fame doesn’t. There’s no emergency release mechanism so you want to make sure your horse is comfortable with being tied. Some people do pens/electric fencing etc instead. Horse camping is a blast, you should definitely look into it!
@cancam34523 жыл бұрын
Yes and yes they can lay down. The Velcro straps will release in an emergency but it also say in their install vid to tie with a breakaway halter.
@robertsouthrey34802 жыл бұрын
I thought horses needed to lay to get proper sleep
