i did buy the new throttle and waited while it arrived, but then when i disassembled everything to hook up the new one, it turned out the old one had just disconnected in the handlebar assembly. it hadn't broken, just disconnected. it doesn't really click into place, just slides in. i can see theis happening again with the new or old one or with any of the connedctions in the handle bar honestly. i would recommend taking apart the handlebar and taking a look with any of the error codes 9keeping track of things of course) before buyeing anything, if nothing looks broken. if your scooter is no longer under warrantee. hiboy is in china so they are minimally helpful, and we don't live in a city so there are not any repair shops near us.

I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT!! long story short I buy fix and sell scooters in my spare time but this one was giving me some problems! the "- - "on the screen indicate a throttle issue! you can buy a new thumb throttle on amazon for anywhere from $10-$20. All of the thumb throttles have the same end connection so it's literally plug and play once you get it opened up. I'd say it would take about 30mins to replace. you would need 3 different hex screwdrivers or if you have a hex key set or allen key set your golden and a flathead screwdriver or prying tool to pop the cover off the display and of course a Philips screw driver. If enough people can't figure out the disassembly I may post a video to help out. The problem is if you drop it on the thumb throttle or press it past it's stop point it severed the connector for the wiring in the throttle. or like I found on another scooter the interior switch in the throttle became faulty due to crap soldering. and a helpful tip there is one hex nut underneath the thumb throttle where you see a hole to loosen the clasp off the handle bar I recommend

I recommend Disassembling the main portion of the handle bar before sliding off the thumb throttle. you will need to disconnect the manual brake and slide it off out of the way. be careful though because there's wires that go to a switch underneath the manual brake that turns on or off the brake light. I personally cut that off and twisted the ends together just so the rear light is always on. It wont drain your battery it's led.

I replaced my throttle and it worked perfectly!!! I ordered one of Amazon and the connectors didn’t match up so I just soldered the wires together and it worked like a champ

@@pauldonohue7536 I have 6 hiboy s2 scooters and I have had to replace almost all the throttles because my kids over extend it fml. But it’s a quick easy fix takes about 15 minutes total to replace it.

My scooter got an error code amd the trottle is no jammed out of position, Highboy support are usleless and im currently without a working scooter.. Any ideas? Do i need to purchase a new handlebar? They've already sent me replacment handbar set but it was for the wrong scooter, since then they havnet replied to any thing

Not sure why you call it "handle bars" when you clearly are talking about the control panel that was replaced. Also the entire throttle unit. It is more than just the "Handle bars". Also, you did not "show us how to fix an error code" You clearly just replaced the entire unit. So the solution to fix the error is essentially buy another scooter...lol. Maybe change the title to - How to replace the control panel and entire handle bar system. This is like saying "Hey guys I figured out how to fix my cars engine. I simply replaced the engine with a new one. Easy peasy"...lol

Send them another e-mail ask for Tracking #. It's coming from China so expect some delay. Shipping delay, shortages, etc........

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

Hey all. I know this is about the error for start up. I need to address this about the Stem issue. I stumbled upon users who have had their stem actually crack in half ! This may cause serious injury or death. Does anyone know did they resolve this issue ? I just got mine August 17 2022. I am please with it so far. Range is not good as they say even keeping the speed low. My main worry is did they fix or reinforce the new ones.

No you need a new handlebar. The problem does not consist of the bar but the software issue.

A new handle bar was sent to me, but has not been installed yet. My scooter is now out of warranty, and I refuse to do the installation by myself. I will only have an experienced Expert install it

The e-mail they sent me came at 4am and about 36hrs after I sent the e-mail. That was my experience with Hiboy customer service. Hope that helps.
