Fun fact: here in Poland where I live, we can buy suppressor without ANY paperwork, even if you dont have a gun. But you need a ton of paperwork if you want a gun.

Walmart wouldn't sell them either way, they're anti-gun and won't sell any handguns, handgun ammo, or center-fire semi-automatic rifles. In fact I discovered semi recently that they don't even sell 5.56 or 7.62x39 anymore. Any 380 is only hunting ammo they don't even sell M80 ball. They also won't sell you a gun unless you're 21 and you have an instant proceed on your NICS check

I bought some suppressors through Silencer Central. They definitely help make the process easy, but just be prepared to wait and wait and wait for the ATF approval. I ordered one last August, and I’m still waiting. The eForm process was supposed to speed this up, but it seems it hasn’t. That’s not Silencer Central’s fault, but you should be aware of this before purchasing.

Yep, if it were not for the silly regulations, suppressor companies that are efficient like Silencer Central would probably be shipping out orders the same day they come in. It would be just like a typical Amazon Prime order; on your doorstep in a day or two.

When the ATF first rolled out the eForm service, I put in for a suppressor right away and it took just a little over 90 days. My most recent suppressor took a little over 9 months to get approved. Both were purchased via eForm with a trust.

Not answering for Scott, but I’m not a big fan of suppressors either.. using pretty much the “nicest”/most expensive/supposed to be the best suppressor on the market, it really doesn’t make all that much difference. Only lowers the volume of the shot from a rifle a few decibels, I still need earplugs/muffs for my ears not to hurt and ring.. so for my needs, suppressors really don’t help enough to make a difference. Now if you put a can on something like a .45 ACP, you’re actually going to get something pretty quiet that’s almost literally silent. And that’s a good use for a suppressor. But for me, they just really don’t do much at all and I think suppressors are majorly hyped up in the US because they’re so hard to acquire. But as someone who’s put thousands of rounds thru suppressed bang-sticks, suppressors really don’t do enough to make a difference, again for me personally

hell better yet they should be urged and strongly suggested. i love my muzzle break on my 308 but if i go to an indoor range i not only feel like an asshole but i know for sure i am one XP. even with inner ear foamies and over earmuffs that damned thing is LOUD!!! one of the biggest reasons i am considering a suppressor is so i can enjoy indoor ranges when it is to nasty go out to the great outdooors for some plinkin...

My Banish 30 arrives tomorrow and even though I've been waiting since August (Thanks ATF) I have called Silencer Central with tons of random and dumb questions over that time and everyone I've talked to was not only super friendly and helpful, but very knowledgeable on suppressors and were actually willing to give me their honest opinions on things, which most company support reps would never do.

It's even worse in video games. Take the Hitman games for example, suppressors are magical devices that allow you to take out a column of enemies from behind one by one without alerting anyone. It not only makes the gasses silent, it silences the clapping bolt and ejected casings. Meanwhile if you toss a coin onto grass everyone within 50 feet will hear it and find it suspicious.

I bought the banish thirty through silencer central. Took about ten months to clear the atf. As a side note once it’s cleared by the atf you may still have to wait a week as they have to clear it through your local state first. But happy with the process. Very easy

In *Czech Republic* silencers are not taxed at all. Only registration costs 8$ (or 200CZK). No paperwork - just buy it, have it registered - have fun :) (10-15mins in my experience) Our general access to guns is more limited :( Have to get a gun license, but at least it's *50% easier* than getting a driving license as comparison. (less questions to learn, less responsibilities, way less cost for the test you have to take, etc.) It's a "shall issue" license you could say. Out rights are cca the same: Can conceal carry, can defend yourself similarly to US standard of: "risk of death or great bodily harm", can buy JHP ammo, NVG/thermal unrestricted, mag capacity *technically* restricted but not in practice (have to get a "special permission" that costs 8$ and from that point you can buy as many magazines of any capacity for ever - it's a little trick we played on the EU regulation. It's technically banned, but anybody applying for a "special permission" *will get it issued:)* )

I bought mi can and made all the paper work and photo update on a Friday night. A week later ATF sent me an email telling me they got the application. That email was on a Monday. The ATF got me approved the next Thursday. Only 3 days. 🎉😂

While both of mine are from Griffin Armament, I have considered purchasing one from Silencer Central. I had a retired Iraq War veteran who is also a co worker get me interested in suppressors prior and they are definitely worth it. I hardly ever go to the range without one. Ive always been confused over the life of a suppressor. Ever since asking an SAS soldier at an exhibition in Aldershot back in the day 1971 to be precise. There was a Sterling sub machine gun leaning up against the tent they were in along with a purplr Austin Champ. The Stering had a suppressor fitted to it and I asked a few questions about it, one was the life os the suppressor. "About 200 rounds" was ther reply. WHAAAT ?!! So what kind of life do you get from commercial suppresors. I guess a Glock 20 4th Generation's supprssor would last a lot lot less than a Glock 19 suppressor, Any advice on this please ?

The regulation around suppressors is so incredibly frustrating. I bought a suppressor at my LGS last October. Still waiting. I understand that some countries, like Ireland, allow you to buy a suppressor over the counter and take it home that same day, just like a magazine. In fact, it's considered impolite to NOT use a suppressor when you're shooting. I imagine our gun rights are overall better than Ireland's, but that doesn't mean they don't do SOME things right. All a suppressor does is protect your hearing. You should not have to wait a goddam year to buy one.

The fact that suppressors are so tightly regulated is one of the biggest snow jobs in the history of politics. Only slightly less gas-lit then “I’m from the government, I’m here to help”. I doubt one life was saved by making them class III. They still make noise! Just not so much as to rattle your neighbor’s dishes every time you want to go outside and get in a little practice (in my state you only have to be 300’ from a dwelling … well a .44 is still loud at 300’ away).

Legislation passed to “protect” the public. Typically only in democrat run cities/states with high gang violence and mass concentration of minorities. Most gun laws are racist in nature whether it’s intentional or “not” intentional, so they claim. The only people who are impacted by gun laws are law abiding citizens and those who need the very thing being banned/regulated.

One permitted Amtrak passengers to carry guns in checked baggage & the other allowed for the carry of firearms in national parks which is a reversal of a policy from Ronald Reagan (Republican) that had required guns to be stored in locked trunks or locked glove compartments while in national parks. Donald Trump (Republican) for his part, promulgated a new rule BANNING bump stocks during his time in the White House. You may recall that a bump stock IS an accessory used to allow semi-automatic firearms to mimic an automatic ROF & that a bump stock was used by the Las Vegas shooter 6 years ago to effectuate the worst mass shooting in modern American history in terms of total body count. According to ATF estimates, about 520,000 Americans OWNED bump stocks when these accessories were banned under the Trump administration. Bump stock owners had 90 days to turn in their bump stocks or destroy them under the Trump rule. Bump stock owners were not offered or given compensation. Now, who's the communist fascist tyrant? You tell me.
