Three choices a person might have made in 1918. There were other good choices, not doubt, but these would have been viable choices and were likely some of the choices made by a number of citizens at the time.
Armed in 1876: • Armed in 1876
Armed in 1988: • Armed in 1988

It'd be hilarious, if you did an "armed in Australia" video, you'd have no guns on the table. Self defence is almost illegal here... You can get charged for fighting off a home invader and they get Asya with their crimes... Hell, if you even MENTION a gun in a self defence situation you can be charged for it. It's unjust and our government is keeping us from being able to defend ourselves... Means we're easier to control. I'm hoping once this pandemic ends I can visit the US, maybe even live there one day, because I would feel much safer being allowed to defend myself. I love Australia, but when it comes to self defence? The US is truly the best. 🇦🇺🇺🇸

I really like the "armed in specific-year" format. I had an excellent conversation once with a man that had been a police officer in California during the Manson family murders. Lots of people that could afford whatever they wanted were suddenly very interested in the best weapons they could get hold of. As some suggestions, I'd love to see 'armed in' 1969, 2000, and 1950 (or some other early-post war year).

I wondered myself. But...popularity is based on many factors, and the 1911 was relatively expensive, and not as concealable. I'm not sure how common .45 ACP was compared to .32 ACP. He didn't provide all of his criteria. 😁

This was a great video this morning. Brought back memories of staying at my grandpa's where he had a model 12 in the clothespress by the backdoor. He also had two 00 buckshot and a few shells with rock salt loaded in them, setting on the wall trim, ready to go. As a side thought, if you are hard up for a subject for one of your wonderful videos, how about covering some the private weapons we carried in Vietnam. There we so many different ones. My favorite was an old 1897 trench gun. That gun surely left it's mark on me, and even though it bit me a few times, it gave me a feeling of comfort. Thanks for the great videos.

@hickok45 I love your videos man..I lost my pop pop last year in May at age 71 who was my best-friend and he used to watch your videos RELIGIOUSLY. Every morning I’d wake up anytime between 2am-6am and he would be up drinking coffee, reading the paper, and watching YOUR channel. I’d hear your voice/narration every morning from the living room and he’s the reason I follow your channel.. I just wanted to say thank you for your videos, they mean a lot to me now. You put out solid content that’s educational and very beneficial to the world. Keep up the good work my friend

In their books-Street Stoppers and Stopping Power, authors Sanow and Marshall state they had not intended to include the .32acp in their shooting findings but after taking a look at how effective it was there decided to include it due to it's efficiency in stopping the threat. Although the books are old(+20 years), they are great reads about the development of modern day ammo via various tests other than the FBI one. It has great self defense stories of use in each caliber. Do not forget to do a-Armed in America Today series!
