Peter Hickman Workshop Tour, Kawasaki ZX6R 2016

Welcome to another Hicky Workshop Tour!
Sorry, I haven't done one of these for a while, but it's been really busy and you might have seen PHR Performance has now been launched! We have been building bikes for people, engines, track-day bikes and race bikes, exciting times!
In 2016, I was riding for the Official Kawasaki team - GB Moto Racing - and they weren't that interested in running in 600 class on the roads, but quite happy for me to do my own thing. So this was it, my ZX6R! Kawasaki UK were very helpful and Trooper Beer were already onboard.
I bought the bike and then had help with parts and wheels etc from Chris Walker Kawasaki in Grantham.
The awesome Akrapovič Exhaust was a development exhaust and was being used in the World Supersport Championship at the time and as I was running with the Official Kawasaki team I was allowed to have one! ‪@myAkrapovic‬
Thanks to Extreme Chainsaw for the awesome handmade stand too!
Special mentions to MK Motosport who made the rearsets to our spec and also Stuey and Dazza who built the bike in their own time using the GB Moto workshop, which so happens is the workshop I’m in now!!

The sound of a Ducati V-twin or V-4 Honda are beautiful and distinctive, but there is something just as special about an inline-4 at max revs that gives me goosebumps every time. This brings back such great memories of the sights and sounds I experienced attending the TT for the first time last year. Thanks for showing us the bike, Peter, and for the video clips of you on it in action. Pure eargasm.

I’ve had a lot of rd bikes over the last 30 yrs right up to the Busa blackbirds fireblades gsx r s. All except the R1 , my 06 Zx10r that I got rid of 3 yrs ago will never leave my memory, 107 mph in first on the Rev limiter , on a wheelie, thanks for the series of videos , roll on 2021 , tt , this yr and mad cow yr were missed by all cheers peter ,,,,, Shane uk 🇬🇧

Great bike! Question from fellow zx6r racer, anything done to the gearbox? I keep braking shift drums and wear shift forks. Never happened on my previous bikes. Thanks 🙏🙏

I currently own a 2010 ZX6R. Feel a bit cramped on it at 6' 1". How did you feel going round the course?

Well done PH & congrats on expanding the business. Nice to have an alternative & constant income stream apart from racing. With your height, do you do anything different with footpeg location? Are you allowed to make alterations such as brackets etc, to give you more leg room? Thanks for the posts & best of luck for 2021 season, hope to meet you in IOM21, from Sydney, Australia.

Thanks for the question, we can change pegs and brackets to whatever we like! Everything with riding a bike is about weight distribution, so although we could make more comfortable it would then compromise how the bike handles. 👍

It seems to me that racing a superbike is easier than a supersport. If you could buy only one bike for your racing, would you go for the Panigale V4 or A ZX6R?

Will PHR only do track machines as I'm sure the general public would love to bring their road bikes up if you have a full tuning facility. Only Bren tuning in US can currently offer me a proper genuine ECU re flash on my road BMW S1000xr (2019) so maybe there is a little gap in the market for an affiliation.
