If you wanna have high visibility at night go no higher than 6000. The only real difference between 5 and 6 is the hint of blue when pointed at a white surface. 4300 k will be white with a bit of yellow. However, it will provide the most visibility.

what kit would you recommend for my horse drawn kart I'm currently running a twin candel setup and I can hardly see past the back end of ma horses arse, she's a big old mare at 17 n a half hands. I'm also having trouble fitting a alternator to the old mare so any electrics would have to run for a while on a precharged 12v battery.

Yeah, use LED not HID. A twin 55W HID setub would draw 110W, nearly 1/6 of your available power (assuming a 1 hp engine, since it is an actual horse). This is a significant load for the horse to pull, even without considering alternator losses.

IDK, unless the camera settings/color balance, etc are 100% the same, then any 'auto' setting will ALWAYS try to adjust to a whiter shade, thus making the differences less visible than real life. Maybe they did? Consumer digital cameras are very hard to render accurate color in this kind of test.

5000k is the brightest (most lumens) but your eyes will see best with 4300k, best color is imo is 8000k. Best article I could find: www.headlightreviews.com/what-is-the-brightest-color-of-hid-kit-on-the-market/

5k is best for look and useful light output. anything over 5k is waste of money. you will strain your eyes looking at the road ahead the higher you go.
@DirtNassty4 жыл бұрын
Lmao.. Very false!! I used to run 8500k in all my trucks even had pink 30k bulbs in the old lady's car back when we were younger, like 12 years ago... Now I run 6500k in both my truck and her jeep and they are perfect.... Never once has anyone had to "strain their eyes" looking at the road with any of the headlights I've ever ran... Be the 6500k 8500k or 30,000k... Even the 30,000k kit was a million times brighter than the shitty ass factory halogen bulbs I replaced in her car... So the idea that anything over 5k is a waste of money is just ignorant and flat out wrong

It boils down to supplier making them and how that color is cheapest to make. 6000K is also the purest and the brightest. The Sun is also 5800K. So yes, why not make them as close to the suns color as possible?
