Good one, one comment though. The argument for the evidence of God's work can be equally applied to Christianity. It does not matter whether God showed up to millions of people at the same time or just to a few. Before Jesus was crucified thousands were witnessing his works, while they disagreed he was the Messiah. After Jesus was crucified approximately 500 people were evidencing the resurrection , if his disciples knew it was a lie, nobody would be willing to die for the lie or leave their jobs, families and possessions , but they did.

@@Alex.Kalashnik Laws of Kings, Laws 11:10-12 (Capach Edition): “[10] …Can there be a greater stumbling block than this (Christianity)? That all the prophets spoke that the Messiah will redeem Israel and save them, and gather their dispersed and strengthen their Mitzvot, and this (one, i.e., Jesus) caused the Jews to be destroyed by the sword, and scattered their remnants and humbled them, and exchanged the Torah, and caused the majority of the world to err to serve a god other than the Lord. [11] Nevertheless, the thoughts of the Creator of the world are not within the power of man to reach them, ‘for our ways are not His ways, nor are our thoughts His thoughts.’ And all these matters of Jesus of Nazareth and that of the Ishmaelite who arose after him are only to straighten the way of the king Messiah and to fix the entire world, to serve God as one, as it is stated (Zephaniah 3:9), "For then I will turn to the peoples (into) clear speech, to all call in the name of G-d and serve Him unanimously. [12] How (will this come about)? The entire world has already become filled with the mention of the Messiah, with words of Torah and words of mitzvos and these matters have spread to the furthermost isles, to many nations of uncircumcised hearts, and they discuss these matters and the mitzvot of the Torah. Some say: "These mitzvoth are true, but were already nullified in the present age and are not applicable for all time." Others say: "Hidden matters are in them (mitzvos) and they are not to be taken literally, and the messiah has already come and revealed their hidden (meanings). And when the true Messiah stands, and he is successful and is raised and exalted, immediately they all will retract and will know that fallacy they inherited from their fathers, and that their prophets and fathers caused them to err.”

I have what I think is such a logical question, that I wonder why it was not brought up in the above video but hope that somehow Rabbi Breitowitz reads what I am about to say, and answers it. He spends considerable time discussing the Kuzari principle. Let's suppose, for the sake of this discussion, that that principle makes perfect sense. However, even Rabbi Breitowitz acknowledges that at least according to one mainstream opinion, that the only part of the revelation at Sinai that was heard by the entire Jewish people, were the first two commandments of the Torah. Well, using the logic of the Kuzari principle, that must mean that the only part of the Torah we can be sure to be truly Divine, are those two commandments. All the rest of the Torah, has as much chance of being valid, as the claims made by any other religion. What does Rabbi Breitowitz say to that?

Couldn't one argue just as easily that haShem appeared to both thousands and a handful of people? Both the revelations spoken about took place far enough in the past that their veracity could be mythological (or even theological) rather than historical. It's argued that many is greater than few when it comes to the mass receipt of revelation, but that argument falls apart really quickly when one puts it up to even the dimmest flame of logic.

Thankyou, Rabbi, a fascinating and clearly-expressed shiur. Just one very important point that I sincerely hope you will take on board for the future. You said that the miracles of Yeshua/Jesus were witnessed by only a few. However, the resurrected Jesus appeared to over 500 people at one time, I Cor 15:6, many of whom were alive when Paul referred to them. Furthermore, and most importantly, most of the original disciples chose martyrdom rather than deny the truth of the miracles of Jesus and His death and resurrection. In other words, they gained exactly nothing but an unmarked grave for their beliefs, but what they had seen they could not deny. Please add these thoughts to your own when you refer to Christianity. And thankyou again for your wonderful teaching and your gracious manner.
@josephnyongesa1933 жыл бұрын
In as much as 1 Cor 15 says that Jesus appeared to more than 500, it also says that he rose from the grave after three days according to the scriptures? The question then is which scripture? There is no such reference in the Holy TaNaK.

@kevinoneil563 жыл бұрын
@@josephnyongesa193 I know what you mean about some Christian theologians reading into Scripture what they want to see, I'm afraid the Rabbis occasionally do the same. I probably do the same, it's a human failing! But it wasn't 'Christian theologians' who interpreted the story of Jonah as a prefiguring of the death and resurrection of Jesus. It was Jesus Himself. There's one other thing, Joseph, something that both Jews and Christians agree on. It's this: the words and experiences of all the prophets prefigured those of the Messiah. Our thoughts could immediately go to Abraham and his offering of his son, Isaac, called the Akeidah. What a mystery this passage of Scripture is, and then we realise that G-d always intended to provide the sacrifice Himself, hence, Abraham saw the ram caught by its horns in the bush, and G-d provided His Son.

Khazars were probably very dark completion more asiatic as they were turk ethnicity and lived in Asia ... they lived close to asia, so light skin jews can’t be their descendants. Not all of them accepted Judaism, but also islam and greek catholic faith. I don’t think jews even mixed with them as it is well know that jews didn’t mixed with tribes or nations who mass converted , for example see Greece and Marocco (berberian tribe) and India (Bnei menashe) even today Ethopian jews (unless they went through conversion) are still not considered jews. The theory of Arthur Koestler was disproved as jews from Europe are not genetically different from jews of middle east and Africa.

There are histoical books, tghat explain, that the king wanted his kingdom to have a main religion. After examining the 3 religions, he found Jusaism the best. He proclaimed that the religion of his country is Judaism. He did noy ban or belittle other religions, he just preferred Judaism. This video ,I cannot share, as the Rav mentioned an opinion that Ashkenaz Jews came from that king'a nation. Else, why the lighter complexion. THAT IS A DANGEROUS STATEMENT, WHICH MANY W I L L USE N TWIST TO FACT! It is unwise, when we consider that Hazal claim that Jews makinģ communities in foreign lands, take on physical traits of that adopted country. This rabbi is one of the Judahites who will be hunted down and slaughtered when Jesus returns because they all refuse to accept Jesus is the son of GOD. The G-d these rabbis worship is actually Baal whose black stone they kissed in 1 Kings 19:8 'Yet I will leave 7000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.' The same Baal is actually the black meteorite stone the Muslims call allah and is in the corner of the kabaa and all Muslims try to kiss it. Wiki: 'The Black Stone was held in reverence well before the preaching of Islam by Muhammad. It had long been associated with the Kaaba, which was built in the pre-Islamic period and was a site of pilgrimage of Nabateans who visited the shrine once a year to perform their pilgrimage. The Kaaba held 360 idols of the Meccan gods. The Semitic cultures of the Middle East had a tradition of using unusual stones to mark places of worship, a phenomenon which is reflected in the Hebrew Bible as well as the Qur'an, although bowing to or kissing such sacred objects is repeatedly described in the Tanakh as idolatrous.' The Judahite Tanakh says kissing idols is idolatry but 1 Kings shows it was very widespread among the Judahites. These false Jews are actually the same as Muslims and will share the same fate at Jesus's hands.
