Absolutely excellent video. It's such a shame Hidamari is overshadowed by newer or more popular shows in the genre when really it's iconic, and a genre staple. A must watch.

Truly one of the most beautiful videos I’ve seen on this platform. I first saw it a year ago, and it single handedly propelled me to watch it, one or two episodes a day. Now is one of my favorite series. Gotta love how Aoki-sensei writes her characters and interactions, it’s see-through how much care everyone at Shaft poured into it, too.

Whenever Sentai puts Hidamari Sketch on sale (which they do for pretty much every sale they ever have) I never shut up about it on Twitter telling people they need to buy this series. It's up there with K-On! in essential "slice of life" viewing and one of my favorite anime ever. Excellent video, by the way. I just recently got done rewatching the series again with a friend.

This video actually made me cry. I think you put it well what makes each character great and sometimes relatable. Yuno learning to become more independent and struggling about future is what really made Hidamari one of my favorites. And it's just so much fun to watch. Guess I'll read the manga to fight the urge to just keep re-watching it forever.

nicely/masterfully done, currently im stuck in Hiro phase, not wanting anything to change. fml . This anime been my Top 5 Fav anime of all time , Masterpiece for me, yet i never realize the true moral of the anime as a whole, i simply love it becos its so comfy to watch the whole 4 season. i even hav all their figma collection, and i rarely buy figma, most of it are gundam kit. and truth be told , i still dont have the courage to watch HidamariSketch Final OVA, SaeHiro graduation . edit: part of fav is becos im a Shaft studio fan long before bakemonogatari adapted i really x10 admire Miyako and want to be like her, just like i admire Morita in Honey&Clover . but that is far-fetch which im just Yuno level

This video feels very personal, like your a person in the fiction writing about these girls as if they are actually real. I dunno if there is an official term for this kind of script writing. This isn't the first time you have done this, but here it managed to really stick with me.

This video just reminded me how good Hidamari Sketch is. The first few seconds alone, together with the timer, had me giddy in anticipation. The last 2 season I watched basically as a drug when feeling down (the most potent drug ever used), which made my perspective specific and lead to underrating one of my favorite shows so after watching this I went back and corrected my mistake on my MAL list. :P

I've recently gotten into Hidamari Sketch and it has quickly become one of my favorite series of all time. Gotta say, this is a fantastic analysis on the subtle dynamics and development of the characters. I think this has definitely helped me contextualize some of my thoughts on the show a bit, and I have a strong respect for anyone who helps to get the word out on underrated and overlooked series such as this one.

Dunno what the other comment said but it's the same character designer (Ume Aoki). I heard she wrote some of the character personalities in Madoka too (helps keep characters from feeling same-y if more than one person makes them).
