Izen god mode, Chad the whole show, Ulquiora's 2nd release. We already know Tsuradnich would get wrecked. He's not close to Ant King Meruem, who was only defeated with poison. In any case, they're headed for an island to trick them into thinking it's the dark continent. It's New Netero's goal to make it to the dark continent after that.

The final point about human and 'other' being able to coexist makes me think about the conversation between Netero and Meruem. Meruem attempts to reach a compromise through conversation, but Netero refuses, believing that by allowing himself to grow sympathy for the enemy his will might falter, and not be enough to win an already pretty uphill battle. Meruem and the chimera ants also seem like a world ending threat like the ones they might find in the dark continent. Maybe this was set up so Gon might succeed where Netero once failed.

Really, really good video. The point about Kurapika being the deuteragonist of the story thematically is really cool. However, when you were talking about his the ending of his past works and how they might influence Hunter x Hunter I was reminded that his first serialization, Ten De Shōwaru Cupid, still has yet to be translated. Even if it's not very good, I still wish I could read to see his evolution as a writer and if it fits the same trend as Yu Yu Hakusho and Level-E. I also have a feeling that the Succession War isn't going to have a straightforward winner, though I wouldn't mind if it did. I just think that even if it's somebody unexpected, I think a pre-established prince winning the war is a bit too straightforward and clean for Togashi. I also agree that a time skip seems very likely, but Hunter x Hunter is very much a story that does whatever it wants, so at the end of the day all we can do is wait.

And wait and wait and wait. In all seriousness, this is some good speculation. Personally, I think Gyro will have the ability to take power with all the Zodiacs and other powerful hunters gone. Everybody gets to the dark continent and everything goes to shit back home. There may not be a time skip, but maybe some time dilation makes some people jump in age and others do not. As for who would win, personally, I would want Woble to win. Another idea I had was Kurapika being forced to team up with Hisoka given they now have a common enemy and maybe causing conflicts among the troupe on who to prioritize. Togashi could even pull a curveball and force Kurapika to team up with the troupe. Also, one thing I would like to happen (even if it may not) is Melody meeting Bonolev while he is transformed and bonding over music. BTW I noticed that multiple people have the ability to use the abilities of others (Benjamin, Chrollo, and Kurapika) which could make for some interesting parallels. Speaking of parallels, I like how the succession arc occurred right after Chimera Ant, especially given Shiapouf criticized the way humans become kings. Puts another bad aspect of humanity into context.

I'm hoping if they ever reach the Dark Continent that the theory about the Kurtas being from there comes true. And that the Kurtas are top of the food chain on the DC and are violent and treat animals/people like objects. Also, I'm predicting Kurapika will make it off the black whale and will be a translator for the Kurta. The Kurta will have Don Freecss as a prisoner and will be able to understand the official Hunter language thanks to him but will be lying to everybody. Since there was a picture of a coliseum in the panel of the DC, I think the Kurta will have the Princes killed for sport. To me, it's always seemed weird that Kurapika can use all 5 Nen types as a specialist when his eyes turn scarlet. I feel this is the arc where the Kurtas will have the same ability and be OP and make Meruem look less threatening. I know this theory is wild, but it could lead to some potentially intriguing soul-searching for Kurapika who would probably rethink his entire purpose/identity.

Coming back to this video much later, but I just noticed this and wanted to point out something that may enforce and prove you might be on to something calling Kurapika the duteragonist of HxH, and that Togashi probably even wanted the readers to infer this: While it is a minor trait, in all shonen media we often associate the hero with one color and their deuteragonist with the opposing color as far as marketing and how the mangaka colors them. For example, Naruto is Orange and the contrasting color is Blue which - oh look - Sasuke, Ichigo being Red and Black with Rukia being Blue and White, Deku with Green and Bakugo with Red. Their colors are on opposite sides of the color wheel. In a lot of cases, the deuteragonist is the hero's foil, but that is not ALWAYS the case and if their foil, the character they are contrasted with the most, is not the deuteragonist, they will be associated with some other random color and not the opposite color, for example, Luffy and Zoro as the main duo with Red and Green yet they have very similar traits and are not each other's foil with someone more like Nami or Usopp fulfilling that role even though they are associated with the colors Orange and Yellow, who do not contrast with Luffy's red. That means choosing the opposing color has nothing to do with being the foil and everything to do with being the deuteragonist. So, what does this mean for HxH? Gon is associated with green, Killua with purple, Kurapika with red, and Leorio with yellow. Togashi has colored them this way, promoted them this way, and the openings of HxH back this up as well. I had always found this strange, as when in all the promotional material, we would see Gon and Killua as a duo (same with Leorio and Kurapika) yet their colors would not contrast with another - a strange sentiment considering we often associate and are meant to contrast Killua and Gon as Dark and Light, (same with Kurapika and Leorio, as Melody points out that Leorio has a kind and soft heartbeat while Kurapika's is frantic and filled with anger) and that they are each other's foils yet do not have opposite colors. Instead, Gon is the protag - green, like Deku - and Kurapika is his deuteragonist - red, like Bakugou. Their foils/partners also have opposing colors and, as such, show they are their partner's "other half" so to speak, Killua with purple and Leorio with yellow. They are, in effect, Gon and Kurapika's support, foil, and partner as far as plot goes. Just wanted to comment that! Hope you are having a great day, Craftswarf.

I totally agree with you on the fact Wobble won't die. However, I don't really see him winning the position of King. Historically in the WEst and the East, even in historical fiction, child Kings tend to be a time of distress. This is seen even in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is famous accross Asia, so I don't see Togashi going that route. I think it is more likely that the characters find a way to interrupt the Succession War (destroying the Urn), or that the winner is someone who might allow multiple survivors (Zhang Lei in particular has said many times that he doesn't want to kill his brothers, especially the baby, and we know one of his Nen Beast's abilities will only activate if he becomes King). Regarding the Dark Continent expedition, while I doubt it will succeed in bringing back a treasure from the DC, I doubt they'll need a rescue mission to bring them back. I kinda expect that Netero had secretly chosen and prepared the Zodiacs for the DC without them knowing (which is also why none was asked to go to the Chimera Ants mission), and this will be a key in them surviving. However, I imagine that whatever treasure they obtain has to be used before they leave, or maybe is destroyed by a mistake they make, such as infighting. Regarding the Time Skip, I can see it happening, but I don't think it'll be that long. The trip to the Dark Continent is 6 months, and I don't think they'd stay over a year there, so to cover the Dark Continent expedition and return probably about two years will pass. Characters like Gon, Killua and Zushi, will probably still get some redesigns, but I doubt any adult character goes through many changes (unless they suffer some wounds). Regarding Gon, I am not so sure about him regaining his Nen. Pitou in particular said that he had given away all his potential, and that he'll never be able to use Nen again. And given that part of that appears to have become true, her opinion shouldn't be ignored. And if Gon did give away his extraordinary potential (which seems highly possible), I don't think Gon will become as strong as he was during Chimera Ants within 2-3 years. He'd probably become a pretty average Nen user like Pokkle. Moreover, Gyro is just a regular ant soldier in power. Like Ikalgo. So he probably won't be as powerful as the heavy hitters of Chimera Ants either. And if Gon is to face him in some way, it makes it most interesting if Gyro is considerably stronger and Gon has to outsmart him while being Nenless or having a weak handle of Nen.

I do wonder how the Phantom Troupe, The Zoldycks and Hisoka will be involved in all of that. Also for the stuff about YYH it's interesteing that a lot of people believe the idea of manga (especially Shonen Jump manga) being outright forced to continue due to Editorial Command/Request, despite having virtually no evidence to this being the case. Togashi seems like a good example of why someone would want to continue. Also that Bakuman/Tokyo Shinobi Squad tidbits were interesting, and wonder if Mitama Security Busters is currently continuing for these reasons for since it seems like the prime candidate to end due to low sales.

Gon searching for the whereabouts of the ship but then only finds the remains and possibly the corpses of his dead friends...

People said the same thing about the Chimera ant arc. I saw a video of a guy who was reading the CA arc when it was being written and he dropped it due to the many hiatus breaks. Then he saw it in anime form and loved it. His name was codeprovider i think. Anyway i think quality over quantity will always be better in terms of storytelling.

@@soulreaver6083 quality over quantity is great in most cases yea, but it's not like he has spent these years in hiatus actually making it. He isn't making a gigantic book of Hunterxhunter thta he will drop and is taking a hiatus to finish it or anything, he has spent most if not all of this time taking a break. It's not about taking the time to create the ambitious story he wants to tell anymore, it's about when will he actually get back up to creating.

As the Biggest HxH-KZbinr, New World Review, did point out, Benjamins Group is unlike the others and is ONE UNIT. You dont just fight Benjamin, you fight them all. They're 1. BUT i have to say: They dont have a Healer, apparently, and also no Telepathic Network (evidend by them using Walkey-Talkeys), which is rather dissapointing. Yes, they have a single Intel-Gatherer but gathering Intel is one of the basic Basics of Basicness for all Militarys, so...
