What will always be the funniest part to me, even if mentioned, Light Metal doesn't even make Metagross light enough to escape a full power Low Kick or Grass Knot. Like, one of the only reasons you would want Light Metal on it (and that also speaks for itself), and it doesn't even work. Why Metagross' Hidden Abilty wasn't ever Analytic on this 70 Spd Pokemon that is mentioned to be a supercomputer is something that I'll never understand.

Another pokemon that doesn't need a hidden ability is volcarona, swarm isn't really a desirable ability, lose 2/3 of your HP to use an ability, plus it has access to flame body which is just better in general

GF missed the perfect opportunity for Iron Fist Metagross: 1) Iron for the Steel type, 2) Metagross uses alot of punching moves, Meteor Mash is a punching move, Bullet punch is very common on Metagross. 3) It wouldn't overshadow Mega-Metagross cause Tough Claws is Iron Fist but better

Several megas keep their current ability, the thing about megas changing abilities is basically it’s an excuse to give Pokémon with bad abilities a good ability instead, but if a Pokémon already had a good ability they left it as is because changing it would’ve just made the Pokémon worse.

My biggest issue with Scarlet and Violet is the insane difficulty of some of the Terra Raids for Event Pokémon which sometimes require specific Pokémon as Counter to have an Chance to beat them

Blaziken got Speed Boost both in base and Mega. I think that might be one of the only ones that doesnt change tho, but I agree that the hidden ability should be something different to help it differentiate from the Mega or the base beyond the better stats 22:15

They really need to revisit many Pokemon with their abilities. I still can't forgive the one they gave Archen and Archeops. As far as I know, they're literally the only Pokemon with a downside as their only ability.

@ Doesn't Regigigas at least have high base stats that are balanced out by that ability? Archen and Archeops don't even get that, they get very general stats and also their horrible ability. That said, there honestly should be an upside to Regigigas. An immunity to slowing effects, maybe? At least make it so the ability is the only thing dragging its speed down.

If ever you need proof that Game Freak sometimes decides things by throwing darts at a wall, remember that Delibird has Vital Spirit (sleep immunity), and they chose to make its hidden ability...Insomnia. While we're on the subject, there's a _third_ ability that is slightly better but just provides sleep immunity (Sweet Veil).

I actually disagree that the ability has to be better than the one it has. See I see abilities going two main ways here. First way is to have an ability that is equal in value such as the intimidate/moxie salamence or a straight up upgrade such as protean greninja. The other way is to provide a different play style all together such as swiftswim/damp/water absorb poliwrath. In the later it can allow you to have a kinda of sponge for defensive play with water absorb or a fast weather attacker with swift swim. Sadly luxray is more of a mid tier pokemon best for lower ranks with slower and frailer mons given its speed. Also the examples he gives are not really helping it either as all they really are doing is getting rid of the slow burn damage at the end of the day. My idea would be to either give it an ability that would allow it to take hits better, or something like that. Personally I would not mind to see something like quick feet which would better be used to make it faster to hit with that 120 base power which makes more sense.

Anyone else catch the raging bolt, walking wake, and gouging fire references. 😂 also i dont think there is ever a reason to use light metal, not even as some kind of troll. Any mon that has it is either to heavy for it to make a difference or it has way better other abilities that are actually usefull. I think it should make the pokemon who have it either 25% or 33% faster. But this makes perfect logical sense so pokemon will probably never do it. 😂😢

Meganium's hidden ability is so trash, man it hurts... A special version of Intimidate or something like thick fat or a weird ability that reduces no contact damage taken SOMETHING!!! CHIKORITA IS CUTE As for Luxray... Its SpA is useless imao, it should've gotten more speed, health or defenses or Quick Feet to "fix" its speed

I would like to see more Pokémon with the Levitate ability to have other options. Bronzong and both Weezing variants have alternate abilities and aren’t locked to just that. I would love to see Flygon get Sand Stream or Speed Boost, it is know as the Spirit of the Desert. Or for shits and giggles give Hydreigon Mega Launcher

Kip I dont need hidden abilities on the hoenn weather box legendaries. What i need is a hidden ability like sheer force on regigagas or speed boost or mold breaker or intimidate or rock head or something that solid that isnt slow start. With all the power creep in pokemon since gen 5 onwards (to the point of pokemon having stat changes between gens or moves being left behind) its far past the time to give regigagas a new ability. Slow start needs to go.

Infiltrator Dragapult had its niche, mostly in a metagame filled with Prankster Screens. It just wasn't as generally useful as Clear Body, since it didn't help the physical sets as much as Clear Body did.

Especially now in SV where Substitute and Protect are used a great deal now in Doubles, and I don’t think that Feint is still a move in current games so infiltrator puts in work, even more with Screen Teams and no Mr.Rime to remove them

It absolutely is a nerf, infiltrator on paper is a pretty good ability, but shadow tag is like a top 10 ability in the entire series they just aren’t in the same tier of useful.
