Having analyzed the debate between Shiekh Asrar Rashid & Maulana Usman, which took place last year, the only conclusion I could come to is that Sheikh Asrar was trying his utmost to use technical words and language to attempt to put off debating Maulana Usman. I mean, on point was the issue of debating according to Munaazra Rasheediya. He said, with muslims he only debates according to Munaazra Rasheediya, but when pressed about Sheikh Abdur Rahman, he said he is a Ghair Muqqalid. When Maulana Usman pressed Sheikh Asrar on this, that according to you is Sheikh Abdur Rahman a muslim, he did not reply. Cleary this shows that he does not debate with Munaazra Rasheediya everytime. This was just a ruse and a spanner in the works to try and not debate Maulana Usman Rather, what he should have done, is what he done with Shiekh Abdur Rahman, and that is meet up, discuss the conditions of the debate and come to a common ground. There was no "we have to debate according to Munaazra Rasheediya and only this" then, so why when he met with Maulana Usman. Also, it seemed as if he was trying to look for any excuse not to debate further and threatening to cancel the debate numerous times throughout which did not look professional. Shiekh said to Maulana Usman that show respect, but at the same time was calling Maulana Usman an ignorant. What you have to understand, laymen will not be able to comprehend technical terms, so no point using them. If Sheikh Asrar is confident of his beliefs and that of Ala'a Hazrat's, why the need to hide behind technicalities, rather he should come forward, debate using terms that the public can understand, so they can who is on the Haq. The reason for me writing this is because I would like a debate between these two scholars and end this once and for all.
