First place I stayed in Rome was Monti, it’s my favourite area to stay in Rome, fantastic places for coffee, wine and food, amazing little shops to peruse, amazing art galleries , I love it

On our first trip to Roma we met a couple on the bus that were there for the 26th time! Since tossing a coin into Trevi fountain on our first visit we've been back two more times. It really works!!! Only 23 more trips to Roma to catch up to those fellow travelers. :) Excellent video series.

Thanks!! I will take you up on your coupon code offer. I definitely want to do the early Vatican tour (the longer) and am also considering the food tour and Colosseum after dark.

In Rome in July 2018, during the heat, it is my favourite city. I like to wander and discover amazing places that are usually off the tourist route.

I'll be visiting Rome with a friend in October (our husbands aren't so interested) and staying in an apartment in Monti! We've bought a tourist pass for the big attractions but it's great to discover more. It'll be a first visit for us both.

Can you recommend good, reasonably inexpensive restaurants in the area?

Great! Thanks for the recommendation!

Stephen, Rome is a city, unlike any other city. It is noisy, crowded and full of places that at times just capture your heart and soul. Don't be afraid to wander, mingle with the Romans they don't bite. Go off the tourist track and Monti is full of life and colour. Enjoy the most amazing city in Europe, I am just a little bias. Ciao!

Great videos guys..... I am here for a month in an apt by the Borghese and a so enjoying your videos (and the music you've chosen to accompany with) on the areas that I will go and explore more of.. Grazie!

The trouble with visiting Rome these days is that you can find vids like this one that cover parts of the city that you didn't see. I'VE GOT TO GO BACK!! Fortunately, I *did* toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain .......

You should need several weeks to discover Rome. Was there 4 times, 10 days each, walking all the day...I thought I knew everything, then I saw Rome by bike (Yuri Palma), and 50% of the spots there were unfamiliar to me...feel desperate...

Roman G - WONDERFULLY done neighborhood series. One respectful suggestion: Shouting Italian terms - Rioni/Via de Serpenti/via Urbana, etc. - is distracting, unequal to the high quality of the rest of the video, and it suggests that you are making fun of the language. In short, to say the least, it adds nothing to the video and is inconsistent with the professional and informative quality of your work. Just sayin’….

I liked when he made fun of my dialect, it added some fun to the video which remains is in my opinion consistent.

Julie, if you want to say in Monti, I would recommend the Hotel Duca d'Alba, which is on via Leonina near the intersection of Via dei Serpenti. It's steps away from the Coliseum and steps away from the Cavour Metro stop. I lived on via Leonina across the street from the hotel for 3 months several years ago. Definitely my favorite part of Rome.

Via della Suburra where Julius Cesar was born is in Rione Monti and as important as Via Urbana or even more. What about Santa Maria Maggiore? Please make an addendum video of Monti in a Day :-)

The Roman Guy Yes i love Italy. Pigneto is one of the areas where i want to live yes. Its not that many tourists there. Been working in the tourist industry here in Bergen, Norway for some years now and would like to not live in a area where you are surrounded by tourist all the time. And its also a bit cheaper then most of the other areas that are close to the city centre.
