Just so Monty can be aware (Hey Bosco), since I know she tries to run rules as written (RAW) when she isn’t sure of something: Crossbow’s Loading property only states you cannot load multiple pieces of ammunition per action, bonus action, or reaction made to attack The Property: “Because of the time required to load this weapon, you can fire only one piece of ammunition from it when you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to fire it, regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make” It does not state you have to take any form of action economy to load the crossbow, as that falls under the Reload property, which the crossbow notably lacks. You are loading a piece of ammunition into the crossbow and then firing it within the same action, not taking a separate action to load the crossbow.

Just to be that guy and also cause I also figured this out recently. The reason Roll20 does only 1 dice roll for magic missile is thats how it works. You rolll 1d4+1 and that the damage for each missile. So level 1 magic missile damage on a single target is 1d4+1*3= total damage. This stacks very well with late game evocations as it becomes 1d4+1+Int= Damage. Just a common oversight. The wording ‘A dart’ instead ‘Each dart’ implies each dart does the same damage.

ky's character arc of learning to cast over the course of the campaign would be fine if he were a sorceror, the class that has no formal training, but he's not....he's a wizard, the class that effectively has to go to college in order to use cantrips alone because they have zero natural talent. Bosco's way of playing ky as a wizard who learns magic on an adventure makes as much sense as me earning a Harvard Law degree by going on a cross-country road trip

They're not playing in the Forgotten Realms, and that's flavor text, not mechanical rule. This is a custom universe, so it's the DM's decision what's necessary to become a wizard. This isn't Adventurer's League.

@@zaxscat5357 and for the record, you can play any class however you want most of the time, as long as you're not a burden on the rest of the people playing the game, which bosco is guilty of in almost every campaign I've ever seen him in. he played a paladin who rejected his own powers, a fighter who barely ever attacked, and now a wizard who took an IRL YEAR TO USE ANY MAGIC OUTSIDE OF A SPELL SCROLL!!! what's next? A quadriplegic monk? Helen Keller as a bard? An artificer with brain damage?
