Yes...an unfolding of events/social changes. With Katy Perry and so many others deliberately leading people into this oblivion in real life - fully aware of what they're doing and the true reasons behind it all. A change from one system to another...destroying the old system and bringing in the new. 1984 & A Brave New World were not predictions. They were dramatised expressions of 'the big agenda'. Orwell and Huxley were both stooges, directly connected to the club - As is Katy Perry and others. Everything is controlled. There are no heroes/gurus out there. Be your own hero/guru. This may sound scary - but it would be wise to start walking away from the system now, (including high-tech, currencies, cities/towns). Be 100% self-sufficient - find clean water and avoid planting GMO seeds. Heirloom seeds' are probably your best bet. Best wishes!

I always thought that the change in Katy's hair from pinky rose to blonde symbolised an aspect of "Taking off rose coloured glasses." Basically her hair is of rose colour, representing her obliviousness to what is happening, however throughout the video, she realises the reality. Then it comes to the point where she encounters Skip that her "rose coloured glasses" (or in this case hair,) comes off and is drained of it's colour, therefore it is blonde. This represents her realising the truth. (After reading, it could be thought that after a prolonged experience as Oblivia, her colourful nature is drained to blank blonde but I prefer my other theory) Additionally the eyeshadow can represent her change in opinion. The blue symbolises tranquility and passiveness (let's say) throughout the video. It is until the hamster wheel, her eyeshadow is now red, signifying anger, determination and protest (which is furtherly emphasised through her facial expression)

I wonder with the blonde hair, I wonder if the pink hair represents unrealistic fantasies at the begining. Since isn't a natural hair color but blonde is, I wonder if how things get more real an serious, the hair becomes more realistic. I also think it also being blonde instead of brown, it still shows that Katy Perry is still more of a laid back singer than a protest type.

So what your saying is the music industry created these songs to distract us from the reality and problems in the world, such as the problems that occurred in 2016. When Katy says, "Yeah, we think we're free," but when you think about, were all copying each other. Were all wearing the trends. It's like a dystopian movie.

There are some political messages in the video that should be addressed considering that Katy Perry is a political activist. First, the video has a pseudo-1950s style with some futuristic elements. This symbolizes "the make america great again' political mantra which is basically about returning to the 1950s when white working class people were able to achieve the American dream and doing well in society, however Black people were being oppressed due to segregation and widespread racial terrorism the KKK and police. Many people who voted for Trump want to go back to that 1950s time in America even though its 2017, which is what the futuristic elements of the video symbolize. They are oblivious to the fact that America was not great for everyone before. The ride where the boy gets more likes than girl at the end, is symbolic of the hillary clinton vs donald trump election win. Also its significant that the person featured on this song and who makes her aware 'woke' in the video is Skip Marley

The Katy Perry Meme Channel You can discriminate and be prejudice against groups even if you want to protect them or don't want to see them harmed. Slave owners during the Civil war saw themselves as helping the African American people by giving them shelter, food, and Christianity. During the suffragette era, men thought that they were protecting and helping women by denying them the write to vote or serve in the military because it's too much for them to worry about/think about/too dangerous. Missionaries used to take children away from families in third world countries because they thought they would be better off in a good Christian American or European family. That being said, no one is perfect, but some people could try a lottle bit harder to be a bit more empathetic/sympathetic.
@thekatyperrymemechannel21227 жыл бұрын
mokana713 I'm just tryna understand why people just assume Trump doesn't like gays without showing any evidence of discrimination. Obama and Hillary were both against gay marriage a few years ago too but no one will talk about that

For me the most deepest parts of the song is: "So comfortable we're living in a bubble,bubble So comfortable we cannot see the trouble,trouble" and "We think we're free, drink this one's on me, we're all chained to the rhythm,to the rhythm" it's like we're living in our dream lives but not aware of our surroundings,if it's getting worse but when katy/rose got pricked by a rose it's like her bubble popped. She woke up to the realization that its not a dream,more like nightmare. And on the the second one.we keep following the trends, heavily influenced by social media, etc. That were forgetting who we really are.we're like a train,where one goes everybody follows.thats all

@Tom...why dont you read the Bible and research it for yourself if you really want to know THE TRUTH. Cuz they are their. Example what I saw was this video was basically saying was to ignore the teachings of your parents from the 50's. Just how SATAN TURNS THINGS AROUND....when she is the only one who can see in the theater is IN REALITY THE OPPOSITE...THAT IS SATAN TELLING YOU TO STOP SEEING THE TRUTH AND LISTENING TO YOUR PARENTS. YOU THINK SHE IS AWAKE...LOL...ITS THE OPPOSITE ITS SATAN TRYING TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU ARE BEING BRAINWASHED BY THE 50S UPBRINGING....WHEN IN FACT ITS THE OPPOSITE. THE 50S HAD BETTER MORALS AND VALUES THAN TODAY. KIDS ARE ACTUALLY BEING BRAINWASHED AND BLINDED BY SATAN RUN HOLLYWOOD....MSM FAKE NEWS...AND SATAN RUN MUSIC. BUT UNLESS YOU READ THE BIBLE AND GET TO KNOW JESUS LIKE WE DO....YOU WILL ALWAYS BE BLINDED BY SATAN AND THIS WORLD. THERE IS SOOOO MUCH PROOF THAT SHOWS GOD IS REAL. AND WHEN YOU MAKE JESUS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AN OBEY HIS LAWS YOU WILL SEE JUST HOW AWESOME, POWERFUL AND KIND GOD REALLY IS. THIS IS NOT OUR WORLD. HECK JUST GO LOOK AT ISRAEL BACK WHEN MARK TWAIN VISITED ISRAEL IN HIS BOOK "INNOCENTS ABROAD"....NOW COMPARE ISRAEL FROM 1867 TO NOW. EVER SINCE 1948....LIFE HAS RETURNED TO ISRAEL. LOL....PRAISE GOD. GOD IS 100% REAL. AND SADLY SO IS SATAN AND HELL. YET SO MANY FOOLED BY HIM. GOD BLESS YOU TOM. JESUS LOVES YOU TOO. TAKE CARE.

I loved this video, girls! I'd figured just from listening to the song that it was about basically being a "puppet" and not thinking for ourselves. We're "chained to the rhythm" of trying to follow what's popular and happening even if it's not best for us. We're controlled by the media, slaves to technology, but only few of us will see it and actually try to break free or do anything to remedy the problem. Very deep.

The hamster wheel is a classic reference for the working class. The people spin as best they can, or work hard, and get nowhere but they keep spinning until they burn out. People are lucky to find a way to work smart and or wake up with all the pressure upon them. We see Rose willfully stop the wheel as she seems to have had an epiphany. Also I believe the houses dropping on the "American Dream Drop" is representation of the housing market crash.

Oblivia represents society being oblivious. Everyone is letting their ego take over which is why we’re obsessing over the image of everything and pretending we’re better than everything rather than realizing we are all one. Sometimes things seem sweet and colorful and exciting but in reality they might be hurting more than helping. In a way being pricked by the rose as she smells it makes me feel like she tried to enjoy her experience so deeply that when she looked to close and took it all in she noticed the thorns or the flaws in our reality. The rollercoaster ride for traditional couples shows us how when you let go of control over your life and give your power to your partner your world flips upside down. The house ride shows us how the home life hits it’s highs and lows as well. The fact that the men have a higher score after the rollercoaster made me reflect on how men have a higher population of potential mates to choose from while women have less (if you are considering traditional m/f couples and how there are more women on the planet than men). This gives men the advantage in terms of options. I also really liked her interpretation of this ride as well.

I thought the whole futuristic/ 50's vibe was to show how even though it's 2017 and the world should of progressed in its mindset, a lot of people still have the same values and mindset as people in the 50's e.g. Racism, sexism etc...

Amazing observation of the video...It's crazy though bc we can easily see every hidden meaning on our own with open, awake minds and eyes, but to hear it broken down just confirms it all. Thank you so much for not only making and posting this video, but for being awake as well! People like you reinstate my hope for all of us to win the battle of taking our lives back and escaping the controlling hold that we have been forced into.

@NoahLoveladyAllen7 жыл бұрын
Tiffany Lee Well yeah. This whole video isn't just a theory about the music video, it's explaining what it means. That the name Oblivia was intentional doesn't mean it shouldn't have included-on the contrary, it shouldn't have been included if it wasn't intentional, but it was intentional, so it should have been included.

The normalcy bias, or normality bias, is a mental state people enter when facing a disaster. It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster and its possible effects, because it causes people to have a bias to believe that things will always function the way things normally function. This may result in situations where people fail to adequately prepare and, on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations.
@makirichi7 жыл бұрын
According to Suetonius, Caesar uttered the famous phrase ālea iacta est ("the die has been cast"). The phrase "crossing the Rubicon" has survived to refer to any individual or group committing itself irrevocably to a risky or revolutionary course of action, similar to the modern phrase "passing the point of no return"
@makirichi7 жыл бұрын
I find this video/music pretty interesting in the way the gem has been cut. One side of the cut is sweet, full of Normalcy Bias fans and on the other, Rubicon sour side down to earth reality

A other thing is in the music video you can aldo see thst the boy did get 9478 likes but Katy did only get 17 likes but they did the exactly the same thing. I think the meaning with this is that gender equality is still little unfair. For example in many jobs so does the man serve more then the women even if they do exact same thing and that is kind of annyoing and really unfair.
@IvanaandAyonna7 жыл бұрын
Caroline Paulis yes, we agree. it's totally unfair, I'm glad Katy could find a clever way to represent that fact.
@madisonw29637 жыл бұрын
I feel that this might not be the intention. If you look at the rides name the "love me" coaster it's quite telling that in the context of old american ideals this is showing the power imbalance in relationships. It also points to the difference in self validation as evidenced by the "validation station". A man can be valid simply by virtue of being in a relationship but the same isn't true for women, in so much as they are not defined by their relationships. I think it's a stretch to say it's about gender inequality as a whole, it's far more nuanced than that. I like your videos btw :)
@IvanaandAyonna7 жыл бұрын
thank you for adding to the conversation, we love your opinion on the CTTR video :) there's so much meaning in the "Love-Me " coaster scene. thanks for watching our videos! :)
@Miriam_J_7 жыл бұрын
First Time Ever I personally think that its nothing. Why would a ride about love have something about a suposed wage gap on it? It just doesn't make sense to me.
@IvanaandAyonna7 жыл бұрын
Mr Independent , thank you for sharing your opinion. Our thought was that it was a subtle reference to gender inequality, the love-me coaster has a lot of symbolism, in fact we counted about 3-4 but ended up cutting them for time. The coaster, in our opinion has meaning that goes way beyond the "Love" aspect. Thank you for watching 😊

Woah I knew this song was deep but not that deep. And people say Katy's minds empty you who say that are very wrong she has a heart of gold. ❤️She's the reason I'm not afraid to be different and have an opinion she also teaches me if something isn't right to change it so it is and that everything and everyone deserves love. ❤️
