Exploring outside the map of Voyage of Despair was a ton of fun, and no it's not just water. There are several rooms, hallways, and even huge open deck areas that are hidden out of sight beyond the boundaries of the map. I for one did not enjoy playing BO4 back when the game came out, but making this video on the other hand I did quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it too!

The tentacle in the beginning outside the boat is the Kraken. There's a free wonder weapon easter egg that the Kraken rewards you with the Kraken wonder weapon.

As a Titanic history nerd that was very bemused by CoD choosing to tackle the sinking as a supernatural zombie outbreak nexus, been waiting for years for someone to do a proper noclip around the map to show the poor ship in its full "glory" here, so props for that. Surprised you resisted the urge to do the "King of the World" stunt at the very front of the ship, too :P Some fun notes: The car you see at 9:12 is a famous trivia fact regarding the Titanic's cargo contents. It's a 1912 Renault Type CB Coupe de Vill that first-class passenger William Carter bought in England and arranged to transport on the ship.

Love this series, and appreciate the time you take to show everything. Like mob of the dead, I’m always fascinated when tre arch models after real events/ places. I used to love researching places and comparing how they look in game and to real life. I did the same here, I think they did a decent job modeling the titanic, made me want to leave a crawler and just explore the map. After playing this map I went over and played titanic honor and glory and compared the playable areas. Kinda fun way to kill time.

I personally love Playing B04 its fun to play yes i do agree on the perk system part but some of thoses perks are actually good but if they added the some of the OG perks then this game would've been better but again the more u play the game eventually u will begin to enjoy playing it but yea i love ur videos keep it up n cant wait for ur next video 😊😊

That tentacle you see near the beginning of the video is an Easter egg for the free wonder weapon. You feed some chests souls and then get a clue to where you obtain the weapon. When you interact with what the clue was clueing you in on the kraken’s tentacle flies up into the air and places the weapon on a crate. I dunno why it’s appearing before you start it. It’s possible when you buy one of the first doors/debris it dissapears

After a little more investigation I did while making the thumbnail of this video, it seems that the tentacle only gets triggered when the player follows a certain path. I’m completely at a loss for why that would be though.

That would be cool. Make your way to the control room, do a blow then set it to submerge again as you escape the sub, or make your way to the nuclear reactor and cause a melt down. Then to make it somewhat more 'realistic' they can make the zombies come back to life instead of more spawning.

So a few things: That crow way above spawn I think is tied to some side easter egg where you decorate a zombie in the kitchen area of the dining hall to look like Neptune (water god). I think you have to shoot the crow with a packed sniper or something? Idk. 39:50 the red circle you shot was a coin with Medusa's face on it. There are 4 coins on each Chaos map and shooting all 4 triggers a music easter egg (red, blue, green, purple) 52:30 The chest you found in the turbine room is for another side easter egg. The lava shovel zombie drops a key and it turns the chest into a soul box. You have to fill 3 chests for a clue, and if you go to the right spot, the tentacle from the start of the video will rise up and drop a free Kraken (wonder weapon) for you.

I cannot wait until you do my birthday map [Ancient Evil](they released the map on my birthday on PS4) and my favorite map (DotN). The reason dotn is my favorite is because it is set in antiquity with the ball, Atrium, and all that. Voyage of Despair being the second. I appreciate the series that you have created too! I feel like a lot of these big open areas are there because they initially just created an (almost) 1-1 shell replica of the original ship and her floor plan, and began detailing and finishing certain areas as they went through and decided what was playable and not. It would make sense why there are fully modelled and actually usable stairways with collision that are nowhere close to playable or even visible space.

Something I’ve always wondered about, even more so nowadays as install size balloons more and more, why are there are so many textures and features outside playable areas and especially in areas where no player is ever going to see during normal gameplay. Rooms like the little bathroom, the extreme hallways and fully furnished rooms that are presumably for zombie spawns, etc. I know that devs use little testing areas sometimes, and deleting them can completely break the game. But to fully furnish a zombie spawn room that a player will not be able to see, or to include long hallways that are absolutely inaccessible? Those promenade deck rooms are perfect examples of seemingly wastes of space.

wait so I don't really know the lore to these specific zombie maps, but i'm more interested in understanding like the story of the map itself. Like there's blood and guts and stuff on fire everywhere as well as areas clearly barricaded to prevent zombies from coming through, but does all of that stuff happen before, after, or during the ship hitting the iceberg. Like why is the player the only survivor? is there a lore explanation for why they're always alone in zombies maps? How long before the round starts does everyone else die? and how come there are some corpses that don't turn into zombies?

Aww you missed the scrapped super Easter egg room. In that first buyable hallway there’s a secret room that was tied to a super ee. IX Classified and Blood all have rooms like this but are all half finished sadly. Excited for the rest of the series

That kraken tentacle (strangely being there surprisingly), yeah it’s for the Kraken wonder weapon. Besides the box you’d have to do a couple of steps. First at a certain round a few guess ship conductors zombie will spawn (best not get too close to him he’ll hurt you pretty bad), you have to shoot him immediately. Once he’s down and KO’d a key should spawn where he died. Grab the key and somewhere around the ship there’s a locked chest, once you’ve found the chest and unlocked it you have to kill a lot of zombies by the chest until it closes and then you have to look for another chest. There’s 3 chest you have to complete, when you finish the last chest there will be an object that’s floating in the chest (A compass, globe, binocular, and maybe one more two more objects). Depending on the object you gotta go around the upper deck of the ship and look for the item you saw. And either you’ll find the item and the kraken would show up and give you the weapon or you could just patrol the outside upper deck around until you screen shakes, ship rumbles, and see that tentacles rise out of the water and then you get the weapon.

BO4 definitely has some issues but it is special in it's own way. It takes a little bit of time to warm up to but it eventually grows on you once you seperate it from the other zombies experiences and enjoy it for what it is.@@ThatWasAwesomeYT

I will list a lot of what these spaces are in relevance with the real ship, i'd like to stress that Voyage of Despair is not accurate to the ship. real long comment: "Spawn" (Forecastle and Forward Well Deck) -Life Safers on Titanic where unmarked, and if they did have text they'd have "SS Titanic" written on instead, RMS was a title given to ship trusted by the British Governament to carry mail to and fro along with passengers and the odd cargo contract making it effectively a seal of approval wich a ship could loose, hence why RMS isn't written on any part of the ship since scrubbing it off would be a pain in the ass. -Note, all first class corridors just like the 1997 movie are the wrong style, starting with the B Deck corridors you entered, i hate it. "Mail Rooms" (Several composited crew spaces, Post Office & Baggage Holds) This whole area beneath the forecastle is all really damn innacurate, the layout is best i can tell all wrong but the vague placement of areas is roughly correct. -The Post Office has been expanded considerably, on the real ship it would be present only on the starboard side on G Deck, not much to note around here besides that it only loosely resembles the space on the real ship "Cargo Hold" -The entirety of the cargo hold is shit and innacurate in nearly every way. there was also just one car onboard, the cargo manifest on the maiden voyage survived the test of time (due to the need of calculating the complete loss of propriety for the respective owners after the wreck) so they really had no excuse here, wheres the damn crates of dragon blood? -the hidden area at 10:16 actually resembles the layout of the real ship a great deal more, the large opening is the cargo hatch wich would go all the way up to the hatches visible on the well deck and forecastle, the water present is also very interesting since it would more adequately rapresent the flooding of the cargo hold than what the final version ended up doing -it does not lead to absolutly nowhere as a matter of fact it appears to raprsent a real space on the ship named the fireman's passage wich ran beneath the cargo holds, i suspect it was ment to connect directly into Boiler Room 6 before they decided to include Boiler Room 1 instead. -Cannot tell what that hidden room at 10:56 was ment to be but i think it was ment to be part of the third class cabins wich directly open onto the cargo hatches "State Rooms" (forward C-Deck cabins, -Not much to say, the layout is roughly accurate albeit munted for gameplay reasones but the vibes are generally innacurate, it feels more like a modern fancy hotel rather than a turn of the century ocean liner wich was comperably more minimalistic and subtle dare i say -It's worth noting that Voyage's Titanic is visually scaled down best i can tell so the bathrooms are more oppressive than they where on the real ship, i've been to hotels with bathrooms about as big as the ones on Titanic -Fun Fact: only a few first class cabins had private bathrooms and the ones that did shared them with one other cabin. "Millionare Suites & Lower Grand Staircase" (C-Deck landing of the forward grand staircase) -At this point i should mentioned the Forward Grand Staircase re-arranging that went down, the Millionare suites where on B-Deck but where moved to C-Deck, the Reception room and dining saloon where on D Deck but where moved to B-Deck and the 1st Class Inquiry Office was on the C-Deck landing but was moved to the D-Deck landing, let me tell you it looks damn surreal. -The two immediate openings to the sides of "C DECK" sign should open onto long corridors instead of sharply ending around the two millionare suites -The C Deck Elevator lobby is about as 1:1 as this Titanic gets, typical that it should be inacessible, yeah there where just three different elevators right next to one another on the real ship -There was also only one elevator per shaft, obviously. "Two hidden rooms" -these would be Boarding Entrances (visible in 15:38 on their version of B-Deck, thought the doors on D-Deck looked classier) "Upper Grand Staircase & Bridge" (Boat Deck landing of the Grand Staircase and Officers Quarters) -The broken wall on the boat deck with a steep drop is a vent that opens one deck above. "Hidden Deck" (Starboard-Side A Deck Promenade) -The dark room on the corridor going towards the first class lounge can only be part of the reading and writing room -The second inacessible room could either be the Lounge Bar (not a traditional bar, closer to a kitchen for drinks away from passenger's gaze) or the Lounge pantry (Wich note: connected to a staircase with both the boat deck and E Deck) "Bridge Part 2, Hidden Room, and top of the map" (Marconi Room, Deck-Houses Tops, Office Quarters, Officers Promenade) -Worth noting that the Marconi Room had a skylight above it wich seems to be the base for the zombie-opening above -The "Captiain of the ship" zombie you seen is ment to be one of Seven officers, Ships Doctor or Chief Steward. their cap is also off-season on Titanic's maiden voyge the officers wore dark blue winter caps wich matched their uniforms as opposed to the transitionary summer cap -The "Elevator Shaft" at 24:32 is another vent ment for the first funnel (visible incidently at 25:32) so there wouldnt be a light nor a door "1st Class Lounge" (Port side A-Deck Promenade) -the wall and door on the port side A-Deck promenade is ment to curve but you're right they made it curve too much "Galley & Maintanance Staircase" (1st class/2nd class pantry, Engine Room Casing) -"Galley" is not the right term for a kitchen at sea, it should either be Pantry or Mess -There was a staircase wich ran from the Boat Deck all the way down to E-Deck maybe the ladder was ment to be based on that? "Hidden Lounge" (1st Class Smoking Room) -literally just the 1st class Smoking Room, completly different purpose to the First Class Lounge wich was a general space, the Smoking Room was for men only since smoking would hurt a woman's fertility + it was unladylike, so hardly a contiunuation of the Lounge -the only real thing i see wrong with it is light snacks being served, generally men went there to drink Alcohol, Smoke and talk politics -No it was not mirrored, the Fireplace was there for real on both smoking room and lounge "Greenhouse and Aft Decks" (Palm Court / Verandah Cafe, Aft A-Deck Promenade) -Palm Court, it is called the Palm Court. its just a fancy cafe (and occasionally childrens playroom) -Smoking class bar! (Just like the lounge bar its not a traditional bar) -Yeah you got it right its the fan room, rock on "Greenhouse and Aft Decks" (2nd Class Boat Deck) -Lifeboats, they are called lifeboats. They're numbered too! "Hidden Staircase & Hallway" (forward second class staircase) -the drop off wich the stairs snake around is the second class elevator -Acess to B Deck promenade was present on the real ship, it may not have ever been intended for gameplay but as detail instead -on the real ship the fore 2nd class staircase went as far down to G Deck, it appears it was ment to be used early on "Hidden Entrance to Berths Staircase" (aft second class staircase) -got nothing to say besides that the staircase and that area between it and the 2nd class smoke room at 37:37 are both real so they are likely both detail with no gameplay ramifications "Sun Deck, Mid Deck & Hidden Deck" (2nd class boat deck, Officers Mess, Central Port Side A-Deck promenade and elevated roof on top of the 1st class lounge) -there wouldnt be an office with a working fan and a desk right next to the officers mess (poker spot) it was a pantry. -both of those "windows" are vents, it seems like a lot of zombies are climbing out of the boilers and engine spaces, wich is a wicked horror concept but i dont think it was intentional "Poop Deck" (3rd class lounge -the doors leading to and from the 3rd class lounge (starboard) and the 3rd class smoking room (port) are both accurate to the real ship, no likely gameplay ramifications imo -Berth or Berthing in the context of ships interiors refers to cabins or sometimes literally just beds but in this case it means cabins wich housed sometimes up to 4-8 Third Class Passengers, the berths in the dormitory sense are mostly forward on the ship -the darkly lit area at 42:11 is the Third Class Smoking room "3rd Class Berths with Hidden Rooms" (Aft Third Class Staircase, Third Class Cabins, 2nd Class Aft Staircase and Second Class Inquiry Office -the layout at 42:55 is also roughly accurate but im sure it was very handy for making zombies spawn too -44:09 welcome to a standard third class cabin, a bit of culture shock i see (though cheap cabins in all classes including 1st looked like that). -think of Decks like floors, because thats literally what they are just on a ship. the (for lack of a better word) "juristiction" of a Deck extends orizontally indefinetly -46:18 yeah thats just how third class was, loads of cramped walls -that corridor is way too classy for 2nd class, only pubblic rooms had oak wood, the cabins all did have the same clinical looking white walls as third class -48:44 the 2nd class inquiry office seems to be misplaced but i have no idea where it is due to how the video is edited "Provisions & Engine Room" (2nd class cabins, Resturant Stores Engine Room) -the engines are actually comically small if one has any sense of scale to what they looked like in real life -Also the water should be listing along with the ship "Under the map and More" -the fact that the *propellers* (not rotors) are modelled if they're never going to be visible is really weird maybe they used to be visible early on in development, somehow -The weather is innacurate to the night of April 15th, wich bothers me becuase what they went with isnt cooler than history. it was a dark moonless night with the harizon invisible and bathed in darkness, there was also not a single cloud star visibility was simply gorgeous.

Black ops 4 also made me feel a bit disenfranchised with the zombies mode. Nothing really has fit the bill. I just want simple round based zombies with hidden lore and a story if you play enough of it. I just want simple zombies back. Too many mechanics and armor and BS.

27:57 I know that you won't care (who would?), but the Chaos Story didn't actually end. In Vanguard, some radios and other voicelines reference the Sentinel Artifact and Alistair Rhodes. Because they must milk every single story thread and retcon every single established truth in Zombies

zombies players complained so much about black ops 4 zombies and now look, we dont even get round based zombies anymore. you all did this. bo4 zombies wasnt even bad, the core gameplay was still there. now it's butchered :(

I love bo4. And the game play on there is changed for a reason (perks / exilirs) is so people can buy them and they can earn extra money that's why they changed it. I still love it though. Like you said the map are baddass and well detailed.
