Walking around the Alcatraz island outside the map was an amazing experience. I was quite disappointed when you couldn't walk on anything in Outside Mob of the Dead, so this scratched that itch. Also, the hidden rooms scattered across the map were really cool; seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in a newer generation was awesome.

If curious that Blood had some cut content, orginally there was supposed to be a path from Docks to outside Richtofen’s Lab. This was scrapped in an alpha build.

I have a few answers: 1. That elevator skeleton drops when you put the numbers into the machine, you can then zap a meter on the docks and throw the axe at the crane net to get the spoon. 2. That water valve you commented on is part of the golden spork upgrade for the spoon. After doing a bit of busywork, you destroy the water tower and throw your tomahawk at that valve to collect your spork. 3. What likely happened is they started by copy/pasting the original map, and then work on it for zombies and Blackout likely shared a map file or something, hence the random collision all over the island. 4. The warden's house has some weird extra rooms (not including the basement) because the house is an edited version of the house you get put into on the Black Ops 3 campaign mission Demon Within. I noticed this when I got roped into a playthrough recently. Really neat thing that I don't think anyone else has ever noticed. 5. You missed one little room in the infirmary. In that side hallway where you had the afterlife passage, there's a green door with a wooden board across it, and it looks just like a buyable door. There's a room in there. It's theorized that this room would have held a golden pack machine as a reward for beating all of the maps (packs your gun all 5 times at once for only 5k points). This bonus was scrapped, but every map still has a room like this!

Super cool! It's really neat to see the differences between Blood and the Blackout Alcatraz map. I really wanna go to Alcatraz in real life some day... Also, don't forget Wraith Fires are great at temporarily lighting up dark rooms.

As a WZ player I love that recognize all the areas despite the differences lol. As for the unneeded collision, those are probably due to the map being reused for blackout later on, they were probably working on it at the same time.

The skeleton with the spoon in the elevator is simply just part of the EE where you need to get the spoon and knife the wall in the Wardens house. Also if you use the crane at the docks without getting the spoon you can see the top little logo thing of Mule Kick trapped in the net. Another detail is that when you turn the meter on the roof you can actually see the Ghosts teleport the PAP from the Golden Gate to the roof.

A few things got missed, which is expected. Without doing the Easter egg steps, or having a mod to edit triggered events/scripts, it’s impossible to cover everything. Regardless, I love each video.

It wouldn’t make sense though.there is no reason for primis to go to the bridge .The main objective is to leave via portal .as alkatraz is it’s own dimension so they would have gone nowhere.As well they don’t have a reason to use the plane.you have to seperate mob based on the areas that correspond with the characters and botd has those areas that work for that story and characters

11:02 So, why I think a lot of that is textured and has collision is because there was a special mode in Blackout (Bo4's Battle Royal) that was Alcatraz Island and that part of the map was playable during that mode, so they probably made that part of the map so that when they did the limited mode, they would already have collision and some textures already finished.

That is possible, but perhaps I should have noted that not much has changed outside the map since BO2 besides textures and that weird looking ramp that goes back towards docks. The collision could still be reminisce of some in-between stage for the Blackout map though.

This is a thing where the definition doesn't really explain the feeling that you get from an actual liminal space. I mean seeing the backside of what developers wanted you to see might trigger that feeling in you I guess

Noticed mine does the same but only in BO4, its insane. I play a lot more demanding games with high resolution texture mods that are so much more taxing and they get nowhere near thermal throttle. Got a 3080 FTW3 so think its just BO4s poor optimization. Sometimes even does it in the menus, really weird.
