Than you for this. I have been over every inch of this building carrying out a measured survey when I worked for the Council. Brings back many memories memories. I was lucky enough to go to the top of the clock tower just before my retirement. Get them to take you in the basement to where the Police changing rooms were and where it can flood from the beck. Also the old kitchen and the plenum shafts in the dub basement.

The cells and their corridors (which are usually Olive Green & White, but seem to have been Brown & White at some point) can be seen in many films and TV shows, however the all White corridor style basement can be seen in the film *Upgraded* (2024) where *Camila Mendes* is forced to work by her snobby superiors.

You can see the basement in *Upgraded* (2024), and I'm 99% sure that a random room on one of the upper floors (which I snuck up to around 7 years ago, where I'm fairly sure the public aren't allowed) is the location for the series 4 *Hospital Interior* in *Peaky Blinders* (just 1 of 7 Peaky Blinders locations in City Hall.) The exterior of the *Hospital* is in a preserved neighbourhood in *Manchester,* however I'm 99% certain that the interior of the *Hospital* is *Bradford City Hall.* The floor is a slightly different style to the floor in the majority of the building, however the *White Bedside Cabinets* which they used in the show, are the same ones which are or were kept somewhere in *Hospital Setting* in *Bradford College* or the *University of Bradford.* They probably used the same bed frames and other hospital props from the *College/University* too.

There's many more toilets I need to see, mainly Green ones like the one at 0:48 if I remember correctly, which I'm pretty sure are somewhere in *City Hall.* I need to see more because there's one, two, maybe even three or more mainly Green toilets which I have in my head, which have been used in multiple films and TV shows, but didn't think to check them out when I visited around 6 or 7 years ago, however I don't remember that Green one being used. If they're not in *City Hall,* then they will most likely be in *Braimes Pressings* in *Leeds.* The Red toilet at 9:37 however, has definitely been used in at least 3 productions.

Darren maybe one day you can do a vid on Manchester city / town hall? its just bening or been refurbished and re opening supposedly this year! its another great expample of Victorian arcutecture and well worth a vist ..it also has an extension like bradford BUT they kept the street in between open (its now pedestrainised ) and has a bridge going between the old town hall and the extension! ...ALSO worth checking out is the John Rylands Library in Manchester it is part of the univerity of manchester now BUT anyone can visit it" It opened to the public in 1900 is one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic architecture in Europe and is indisputably one of the great libraries of the world. The library became part of The University of Manchester in 1972.... just a hint and food for thought for later vids if you get over to Manchester as i know you like your victorian buildings! Also next door to the library down the side street is wood street mission still going strong today ..originaly know as Manchester and Salford Street Children’s Mission the site on Wood Street was acquired in 1873 and a brand new building built so more victorian stuff if they havent alterd it to much inside BUT still an impresive building from the outside it also has a working mens church rebuilt in 1909 it still has a stone enlayed ito it on the front of the working mens church giving dates ...www.google.com/maps/@53.4806273,-2.249673,3a,15y,0.54h,90.41t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1szG2ULMNHUsScwoHrC_Uq-w!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu

I recently watched a brilliant Jim Broadbent film on bbc 2 called The Duke and a great deal of it is filmed around our Bradford, namely little Germany, and the very court you have shown us and undercliffe cemetery perhaps an idea for a video to visit them and tell the tale of the Duke a true story of a funny and remarkable man
@danielgardecki1046
@danielgardecki1046 Ай бұрын
*Jim Broadbent* has filmed at least 5 productions in *Bradford.* *Bradford City Hall* has been used in at least 50 productions. I'm the guy who added most of the cast and crew to *The Duke* (2020) on *IMDB* years ago, because film and TV people clearly aren't bothered about making sure their credits are added. I want to focus on updating *Bradford* productions, but it's impossible to ignore the countless false, incorrect, mixed up etc credits, profiles, productions etc which I find every single day. In the last week or two I've been focusing on some 10-15 year old feature film and web series productions by people mainly based in *York,* as I've seen them pop up countless times over the years, when trying to find the correct people. As predicted, there are 100s of duplicate profiles for the same people, with their credits spread over multiple profiles which I'm slowly merging together or moving. So far I've updated 1 web series (consisting of 24 episodes) one by one, 2 feature films of theirs, plus have nearly finished updating a 3rd feature film of theirs. I just need to finish adding all the thanks credits and companies then it will be complete. There's also around 20 or 30 more shorts by them on their main channel, which are missing from *IMDB* at the moment, which I will be adding, most of which seem to be related to the web series, but whether they should be included as part of the series or not is another question, as they consist of things like special episodes, and behind the scenes stuff. The bulk of the same cast/crew from those productions have also worked on at least 1 more feature film, at least 4 more web series, plus around 30 more short films. There also seems to be countless missing music videos involving one person in particular, however I think I might not bother adding them, as like I said, there's countless music videos where he's listed as a crew member, on countless channels.

Practically everything in the *The Great Train Robbery* (2013) is filmed in *Bradford.* It's roughly 60% *Bradford,* and 40% *Leeds,* in the same locations which are always used for filming. I have it downloaded from the internet for free, and have a list of most of the locations written down in one of my private blogs. I haven't watched either of them for a while, however I'm pretty certain that *The Great Train Robbery* (2013) and *Victoria* (2016-2019) did not film in the *Old Law Court.* They did however film in other areas of *City Hall* such as the *Council Chamber,* the *Main Entrance Hall,* the *Prison Cells,* the *Red* coloured toilet with the circle window, the *Courtyard,* and other random rooms. The same can be said for *Peaky Blinders* sort of, as *Peaky Blinders* only used the *Old Law Court* for the *Changretta Family Photo.* They did however use the *Prison Cells, Main Entrance, Main Entrance Hall, Mayor's Office* (or the room opposite the Mayor's Office), the *Two Reception/Conference Rooms,* the *Council Chamber,* and a random room on one of the upper floors, for actual filming rather than photography, which were used for *6 locations in Peaky Blinders* (7 when you include the photo).

That takes me back! I have only been in there once as a child of about 6 in the early 1980s. Our school and another competed to see how many children we could fit inside a Nissan Micra in front of the City Hall then got a short tour, met the mayor and had some sandwiches provided in the mayor's fancy visiting room. Unfortunately all I recall are the flag room, the courtroom and the back staircase. I was obsessed with secret passages as a kid and thought that somebody did say there was at least one in there but they might have been pulling my leg.
@danielgardecki1046
@danielgardecki1046 Ай бұрын
The secret passages are more likely the sewers which follow the *Bradford Beck* and go from *Bradford Live* in the West, *Market Street* in the East, and also lead to *Sunbridge Wells.*

@@danielgardecki1046 I am now aware of the many underground waterways in Bradford though, unfortunately not their routes. At least one or two episodes each of both *ITV* series *Poirot* and *Marple* have filmed in *Bradford.* However I'm pretty certain that both only used the *Keighley and Worth Valley Railway,* and nothing else in *Bradford,* from what I remember anyway. I haven't seen either show, as I actively avoided them, and practically every other *ITV* detective show when I was a kid and teenager (apart from *Heartbeat, The Bill,* and a few others), so I have no idea which episodes they are, although I'll find out one day when I decided to download them all. It's possible that the *BBC* original *Miss Marple* filmed in *Bradford* too, although I don't remember hearing anything about that. I have a list of at least 50 films and TV shows which have used *Bradford City Hall,* and can name most of the specific rooms too, although I'm certain there will be more productions I don't know about yet. Just this week I randomly found out about a Kung-Fu feature film from 16+ years ago which filmed at *Bradford City Hall,* however the film got cancelled after the 2007-2008 financial crisis.
