Adam, I am a native Floridian and I want you to know how much I am enjoying your "hometown" Florida series:) I'm 65 now but I remember driving on vacation going through these towns and seeing Citrus Trees for miles and miles. The towns were bustling with people back in the "olden days"- now not so many Citrus Trees and not so many bustling towns but I remember and want to Thank You for the updates. Your one in a million Adam and you have a knack for knowing what people want and need to see in these times. I wish you all the best life has to offer. Your such a good person.

The small building on the golf course was the Pro Shop. My Grandparents lived there 40 years. My Great Grandparents lived in Babson Park. The Mini Mac was once owned by the Macalisters. There was a Grocery Store and Post Office that was the "heart" of Babson Park.

As a UK resident who visited Florida for vacation every year for over 40 years, I love your videos showing the old small towns and history of earlier Florida. I also enjoyed driving to out of the way non tourist towns and exploring the old buildings. I'm too old to visit the USA (80 years) now due to health reasons. I love viewing your videos, brings back so many wonderful memories of my time in your wonderful State.

Very interesting and relaxing. I had never seen those citrus tree bags/nets to protection from insects. Thanks for all you do.
@stillnessbetween51033 жыл бұрын
The bags are to help keep the trees safe from "greening" disease. It is carried by a very small mite. The disease was devastating to most of the citrus trees in Florida. It was so bad that many municipalities were cutting down and burning all citrus, even on private land. I lost a beautiful variegated pink lemon and a tangerine tree to the disease.

My dad moved us to this part of Florida the year Disney opened. We came from north New Jersey so it was a culture shock for me a young teen. He became one of the head administrators for one of the big phosphate mines. I did however learn to love this part of Florida. My dad was actually ask to name a lake on the property owned by US Agrichem so it could be properly put on the map. He named it after my mom and it’s hidden by Fort Meade. I left the area in the late 80’s. Your lovely video brings me back home for sure. Thanks so much for sharing this with all to see. God bless.

Love your trips thru the back roads. I share your passion for the architecture as well. I’m thinking that structure in Highland Park was pro shop for the golf course. Checked on its history and back in the day it was truly a Mecca for the golfing community. Several years back it’s landlords tried to give it a go but sadly we’re not able to resurrect it. Safe travels Woo 👍👍
