Hyperion was *intended* to be an obvious Superman reference, starting from his name. "Hyper" is to Greek as "Super" is to Latin. His "real" name is Zhib Rann. It's an obvious nod to "Kal-El" via the poet "Kahlil Gibran." All of the "Squadron Sinister" were knock-offs of JLA members (Flash/Whizzer, Green Lantern / Dr. Spectrum, Batman / Nighthawk ). It was a way for Marvel to do an "Avengers vs. the Justice League" in the days before inter-company crossovers.

It gets even better with the Captain Marvel one. During the 70's Marvel comics actually had their version of Captain Marvel trapped in something like the phantom zone and the only way he could appear was if Rick Jones (one of cap's many young sidekicks) clashed the Nega-band bracelets on his wrists together and switch places with him. I truly didn't know that Marvel and DC made characters so similar to each other. I've read Batman comics, and I like that Dick Grayson became Nightwing. I think he was well writen over the years. I never read Captain America comics so I didn't know who Bucky Barnes is until I saw Captain America. So Bucky having become The Winter Soldier was a movie moment for me. Only later I found out that it happened in the comics first. I didn't know that Namor came before Aquaman. Still, they have different backgrounds. Namor is a mutant and Aquaman is a half human-half Atlantean. I think Aquaman is more interesting though.

Ok so... Namor has beat the Hulk more than once. Black Cat can cause enemies to have bad luck. Hyperion is way more vicious than Superman. Also, John Carter was the very first superhero. Clayface can change his appearance to look like someone else. Sandman is juat a dude that turns into sand. Bullseye and Deashot... spot on. I can't comment on Red Lion because, for once, I have zero reference on the character. On average, The Atom goes wayyyyy smaller than Ant Man. In the movies, they made it so Ant Man can shrink to atomic size, but normally, that isn't the case. Spider-Man and Sailor Moon... 🤦🏿 Robin and Bucky..... Spot on. Moon Knight and Batman: Also spot on.

Bucky Barnes and Robin in the begining, then Bucky and Speedy (Roy Harper) are a much better match tho there is a lot of Jason Todd in the mix for Winter Soldier. Don't forget, Mr Fantastic, Elongated Man and Plastic Man. There are tons of Marvel rip-offs of DC if you look at early stuff. Ever notice Wolverine and Timber Wolf of the Legion? Later, DC took a few from Marvel but not near as many in my opinion. Either way most of the characters are still great.
