Technically though at one point it WAS a reboot. Like when the Annihilarrgh was used, and Alien X quite literally REBOOTED the series. Then it was rebooted again in a later episode when Vilgax used a bomb to destroy ALL dimensions where Ben got the omnitrix. After that episode, the series followed a Ben who DIDN'T have an omnitrix originally.

That was a alternate universe that existed in the same episode as when Vilgax used the Chronosapien time bomb to destroy the rest of the bens, and it was never a reboot, but they used the Alien X recreating the universe plot for reasons on why some stuff changed in omniverse.
