Gemstones is all about contacts. There are videos here on YT from an Italian guy who visited Peshawar gem ally in 2004 or 2006 during the "hot terrorism" era of time. Idk his name or of the video.

Reminds of me Turkey when you go into a shop..only men around, start throwing rugs of various sizes on the ground, on top of each other.

Frank, I am planning a trip to Pakistan in Summer 2025, may I ask where you found the prices to be the best. You mentioned in the Vlog the closer you were to the source, the higher the prices were. It seems like your best bet is work with the dealers rather than individuals that are trying to sell your their goods. Any advise will be much appreciated.

It's funny and quit ordinairy to see how many hidden treasures are in those mountains of plastic bags and newspaper in almost every office back room where deals are made. How was the ratio mineral, specimen and facet grade? Have you seen facet grade demantoid and tourmaline?

Alot of Turks and italians buy from peshawar. Ive seen a deal done with a Turk where Emeralds were sold by the Kilo. The most clear Emeralds are bought by Columbians and they are sold as Colombian Emeralds at a slightly lower price. Pakistanis normally like to where cabochon. Its because cutting genstones is fairly new here, since the mughal empire the trend has always been to carve gems not cut.
