Couldn't work out what was causing the side effects so I discontinued both. @N S Your first experience with Elvanse sounds rough, but I guess there were conflicting factors. I was not sold on Vyvanse AT ALL until after taking it for a few days. Then I understood why others rave about it.

I would like to know from those who have solved PTSD and anxiety, if they have solved it definitively and how to understand what quantity of psilocybin to take and when, for how long. From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,

I just started vyvanse and it’s only been 2 days but those 2 days have been my most productive days in the last few weeks. Going from feeling trapped and stuck in college with now way of helping myself out, to emailing professors and actually reaching out and being productive. Whether these first 2 days have been placebo or not, it’s been a big catalyst for the change I’ve needed

2nd day today. I do environmental regulation for the state in a heavy region with industrial oil activity and other industries of waste, water and air. Wow, this work quarter made me feel so crazy and like I couldn’t do anything but I sought out medical help and realized my job caused me to have adult onset ADHD. I’ve gotten about 3 months of permitting, record reviews, and report write ups in these few days truly saved my job and livelihood. So far really enjoy it but what will a year of this look like?

here’s my story: I started taking phentermine for weight loss however the side affect was extreme jitters and high anxiety. At the age of 4 I was diagnosed with OCD and put on SSRI meds. After talking to a psychiatrist she suggested vyvanse as it is much smoother. It didn’t help much with my weight but I was noticing I was able to listen, able to not lash out. After talking to my therapist it was confirmed that I was misdiagnosed as a child. I have ADHD not OCD as it presents itself differently in girls and woman. My entire life has changed for the better with vyvanse. I have good coverage and pay $30 a bottle for all doses. I started with 30 then upped to 40. I feel normal on vyvanse I can think clearly I can listen to people without interrupting I can walk away from arguments, I can actually think before I speak now. It’s been amazing for me

it's been life-changing for me. started 20mg and worked up, continuing to experience a surreal ability to get more done, to process information, to listen to conversations, to alleviate anxiety to where I've been now taking 60mg for more than a year. works very well. i get up at 4am, but don't take it till about 7am... before my work day begins. thanks for sharing the video!

I switched from instant release Adderall 20mg 3X day to eventually 60 mg Vyvanse 1x day. I have generalized anxiety, depression, Social phobia, and cPTSD along with ADHD. Fun!! Lol. I have noticed on Vyvanse, my anxiety has been MUCH more manageable. There's a lot less agitation, irritability, and intense hyper-focusing as well. Both of you should try Psilocybin. I was Microdosing psilocybin for a couple months, it was a great experience for me and because of it- my depression is in remission.

Diagnosed inattentive ADHD at age 57 in 2021. Until just a few months before I was both sceptical about and completely ignorant of ADHD, in spite of having been a lifelong Stranger in a Strange Land, square peg in a round hole, outsider looking in, etc. Managed a PhD, semi-successful self-employed scientific consultancy career until mid-to-late 40s, but then the wheels really started to fall off. Diagnosis explained pretty much everything, but by itself wasn't enough. I started Vyvanse after a month or two and the experience was similar to that described in the video. Side effects were irritating at first but wore off within a week or two. Started on 20mg (first few days were *great*), titrated up to 50 via 30, but 50mg caused terrible anxiety (especially on the come-down later in the day), etc. I've been on 40mg for about 6 months and it does help, but I'm realising that by itself Vyvanse still isn't enough. Interested to hear that you still find 'difficult' work difficult on Vyvanse: that's definitely the case for me too, and after hearing what you had to say about it I'll mention it to my psychiatrist. TBH there have been times when I've wondered whether the Vyvanse is helping at all, to the point that I've taken time off just to see. Long story short: it definitely does help, but not very much. There's too much to say about the whole experience to do it any justice here. I suspect that the very late diagnosis means there's a legacy of life-long habits, work-arounds, perceptions, self-perceptions, and more (baggage, in other words) that will take much longer than a year to figure out / get around / go through. I have no idea how you've managed to hold down a corporate career. A move away from self employment into a more corporate, 9-to-5 environment ten years ago was disastrous for me in a way that I now recognise as being very ADHD.

For me, It works very well (50 mg). The only downside is that it makes me more anxious in general, but when that happens, I just repeat to myself over and over that it's the pills talking and making me nervous, not a real perceivable treat.

Struggled with ADHD all my life.. Made grade school an academic struggle, and nearly failed me out of college twice! As one teacher put it "You definitely have potential, you just have no focus." Day 1 with it: I felt the ability to focus, but it's not a "magic pill" you still got to make the choice on what to focus on, the brain ritual of distraction are still there but I feel I have the ability to control it. More thirsty at times. No sleep or hunger issues for me. I took a small nap after 4 hours and ate lunch & dinner just fine, but I noticed I didnt overeat, I ate exactly what I needed, perhaps more self-control? I felt generally happy, probably the calming effect it has. I felt the calm effect starting to get weaker at 8 hours, but still there just slowly decreasing. Only caffeine I take in is a small can of Coke or Dr.Pepper with lunch and dinner, no coffee or energy drinks.

After watching your videos, I asked my psych if I could switch to Vyvanse after trying Adderall IR 10mg all the way up to 30mg (I was also struggling with binge eating as well). The crashes in the evenings on Adderall were way too bad. I would get extremely angry and irritable from the smallest things. Vyvanse has definitely been my favorite so far. I started my ADHD treatment with Vyvanse and this saved my life! The problem is the price, because of it I tried Ritalin once, for 3 months then came back to Vyvanse. I think nothing is better than Vyvance to treat ADHD!

I was started on Adderall to help my adhd. I believe it wore off too quickly and was unbelievably addictive. Vyvanse is much smoother and comes on much more suttle.

I took Vyvanse for 1 month earlier this summer, and I'm now back on it again starting this fall. yay! (My doctor and I were working out the kinks of what medications work best for me, and Vyvanse seems to be the winner.) The first time I took Vyvanse, I immediately noticed an improvement in not only my focus and productivity, but my impulsive tendencies. They were completely halted.. Because I'm so impulsive, and I do have anxiety and depression (which I'm finally treating with other medications) I tend to binge eat, and I have put myself in a very unhealthy weight range over the last several years. (oof) It's like i have no self control around food (typically). The very first day with Vyvanse, I found that I no longer desired food.. or reached for it when stressed... I was able to eat responsibly and make healthy choices.. In fact I had to remind myself to eat something at meal times. my weight dropped 10 lbs the first month. (which i regained while trying other medications and binging again). Now that I'm back on the medicine, my appetite is once again In my CONTROL. which is a miracle. I love it. I love working out, I love being active, but I've not had any energy or focus to do so up to now. Other medications were making me so constipated, and giving me terrible side effects... My side effects from Vyvanse were: jittery the first 3 days. dry mouth, and as you stated.. if you don't take it early enough, your sleep is ruined. so wake up early. (which I do, to take care of my family anyway). Other than that. I find the medicine to be the only one out of the many i've tried since January... that actually helps me. If only it didn't cost so much. (I'm grateful to be able, I'm sad for people who can't afford it yet, Mental health is really worth it though.)

For those researching the meds right before or right after starting it, remember every affect, good and bad. Write it down or put it in your notes or whatever works for you to remember. Ride it out for 2 weeks and then see how it feels. Your body and brain needs to get used to the meds so stuff will change. Remember everything and after 2 weeks tell your doctor everything, in detail, with timelines and specific situations. And also be patient, it takes a while to figure out what works. For me, I started at 10mg for 2 weeks to get my body and brain used it and make sure there wasn’t any pressing side affects. After that I was prescribed 60 tabs of 20mg and 30 tabs of 10mg for 1 months and was told to move up 10 every few days or a week and figure out what works for me, but was told to not go over 50mg. I ended up staying at 40mg as it kinda worked and I didn’t want to push it . After that month they had me redo a little quiz they had me do on my first appointment and compared it to the other without showing me the original first. We decided it helped a little bit but not really enough to make a difference in my day to day life. So they bumped my prescription up to 50mg for a month and are re-evaluating after that. I never had a problem with anxiety before the meds and I don’t on them either. However I have always had sleep problems but the meds don’t seem to make them worse. I do remember for a while I would get really irritable as the affects wore off later in the day but that would only last for an hour at most and that eventually went away. This method is really only feasible for Canadians as they are a lot cheaper here, with my insurance I get them for free. Just remember everyone is different, and to be patient as your brain needs to adapt to it

I didn't pay a penny! I did chemo then surgery then radiation, I didn't even need to pay parking at the hospital as there was a Gilda's place across the street. We're so lucky here. It's May 2024 and I'm petrified that Pierre Poilievre will become Prime Minister and ruin all the Social programs and medical perks etc we are so lucky to have here. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

I’ve started using Elvanse about 3 weeks ago. With a body weight of 105 kilograms and 2 meters in length I’m currently on 60mg. I’m overal happy with it and it’s a step up from using my dexamphetamine and your description is spot on. Except in my case I feel its starting to lose its effect after 7 hours. So although I really enjoyed your approach by taking it early in the morning I had to take it a couple hours later so that it would wear off after my workday instead of three o’clock. This luckily didn’t effect my sleep as it had in the first two weeks when I started using Elvanse. My psychiatrist didn’t had any experience with with Elvanse so I had to do most of the research myself you sharing your experience helped me allot in that way. Thank you!

I’m on 50MG of Vyvanse, and my psychiatrist submitted a medical necessity form, and it was approved by my insurance, which is valid for a year, so now it’s covered until 2023!

Vyvanse completely changed my life. I have been taking it for over 10 years and I am on 50mg. Ever since I started taking it for my ADHD, it had greatly beneficial medicinal effects on my severe depression that eventually caused me to commit suicide and die 3 times. My depression completely dissolves when it kicks in. I'm happy, have energy and desire to do activities and socialize. I don't have racing thoughts and I can control my them way better now.

I use a mail in service and I pay $90 for a 90 day supply. Vyvanse has absolutely changed my life. I’ve tried other stimulants, but I’ve had the best results with Vyvanse. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my late 20s, and when I started treatment it was like my mind had been an orchestra warming up with all different instruments playing in different keys, and then everyone syncing up and playing harmoniously.

@@johnmoore1495 Hey, John. I am in the state of Georgia, USA. I use OptumRX through my work insurance, which provides a mail in service for 90 day supply of medication at a lower cost. I meet with my psychiatrist at least once every three months, and she sends in the prescription directly from her practice. There is a letter that has to be sent to OptumRX once every six months from my psychiatrist in order for them to be able to prescribe a 90 day supply of Vyvanse. It's not always a smooth process and often times I have to intervene with OptumRX to make sure there's no hitches in it getting shipped to me. I sincerely hope this helps you. I know how painfully frustrating it is to get the help needed. Please let me know if there's any other questions I can answer for you.

@@MissHilPaige thanks for responding. From my research it seems like you can get 90 day scripts in the mail but not at a local pharmacy (or at least it’s much easier to do by mail.) Which to me doesn’t make sense, but it is what it is I guess. I’m on Medicaid and I don’t think they even allow 90 day scripts for scheduled meds in my state because they don’t want people potentially abusing them with government funded health insurance (at least that’s my guess.) Can I ask what dose of Vyvanse you take?

Concerta made me feel weird, like i was in some bubble and it made me too calm and my mind got too quiet.. with Elvanse I feel more me, and boring tasks doesn't feel overwhelming as before.

Thank you so much for this and your other videos. I'm still trying to find the right regimen. So far I've only taken various doses of adderall and adderall xr, and the ups and downs are too much to deal with. I'll start off with decent energy and motivation but my heart rate and anxiety will also spike. When I crash I get nauseous, lethargic, and somewhat depressed. Just got diagnosed at 41 years old. Currently on concerta 36mg. For me it helps a lot with emotional regulation and social interactions too, not just focus which is also improved. the effect lasts only about 7hrs currently. Hoping for the psychiatrist to adjust the dose so I would get around 12-14h effect. These pills have been a lifesaver for me! I feel like after all these years I can relax. I still notice my symptoms but they are much more manageable when I'm on these meds.

i'm on 70mg, this was the dose where i found i was able to start describing the positive effects i was feeling, i did jump up to that dosage fairly quickly though, going from 20- 30mg in a week, then 30 to 40 after 2, and asking me how it was working, they would bump me up 10 after every month, till i got to 70 by about mid summer. at 70, the feeling of "i can tell there's a positive effect, but i can't narrow it down" started turning into "my god, i've never been so on task, and on top of things"(words i'd regret later once work burnout kicked me out of that loop, not entirely related to adhd either) , and while part of me is worried about being on such a high dose, i know i was also on the higher end dosage when i was younger for Adderall. The biggest downside for me, is missing a day without a doubt. it feels like your a toy that just had your double A batteries pulled out, and your running on residual charge just trying not to collapse as you go through the rest of your day

Just wanted to say i really appreciate this video, it was very informative. I just got diagnosed with ADHD today (attention deficit type) after 3.5 grueling years of college. I kept telling myself things like “everyone struggles this much” or “I’m just making this up” or “If I talk to people about this, they’ll just think I’m doing it for attention.” However, last semester I had a wake up moment when I had a conversation with someone who recently was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed vyvanse and it changed their life. Talking about how they felt before they were diagnosed was the only time I’ve ever truly related to someone’s mental image. The parallels were uncanny. So I finally reached out, got tested, my concerns were validated and I was prescribed vyvanse. I’m picking it up tomorrow and hopefully it can make an impact in my life which I desperately need to get in order before I go to grad school.

In the UK, you get titrated for a while, which means adjustment of your dose to an optimal level. Once titration is over, the NHS (National Health Service) creates a Shared Care Agreement with your psychiatrist, and then the NHS pays for the medicine and you just need to pay the prescription fee!

I started taking it two weeks ago, and i ran out and havent been able to get out to get my prescription but it has helped me immensely. My sales are up almost 100%, my attention span has increased, my hobbies have had my full attention when i have the time for it, i feel great. Now that i have gone a few days without it, i feel empty and back to my normal self (which isnt good, for me). It also decreased my appetite by 90% meaning i can hardly get two meals in a day, so i try to eat right after taking my vyvanse so that im not accidentally starving myself. Overall, great. High anxiety but ive been working on it.

Hey man, the anxiety became less for me after my body got used to it more. Also the tip from my psychiatrist was to do the more demanding tasks early and the lesser ones later in the day, this helped me allot. Also practising Mindfullness has really helped me out in that way too. I actually found that Elvanse helps me to keep me in a state of Mindfulness longer after doing an exercise. So now I got it added in my morning routine. Hope this is helpful to you. Take care

I've been on it for around 3 years. I have more good effects than bad. Sometimes my tongue gets sore from rubbing it on the roof of my mouth all day. Other than that I love it. I've had ADHD since I was a kid but I didn't get an official diagnosis until I was in my 40's. Vyvanse is the only drug I've tried for my ADHD. I have addiction issues so my doctor didn't have a good feeling about prescribing me Adderall or Ritalin.

What about tolerance? Did you take it every single day the year that you were on it? And if so, did your tolerance build up to where it no longer had the same effect for you? I've been on 30mg for a while now and it still seems to be going well, but I'm in a constant state of obsessively wondering if at some point it will no longer work. Thanks so much for information, just started on Elvanse 20mg here in the UK surprised by effectiveness but is is stopping me from sleeping so far but I've always struggled with that. I'm paying privately as state healthcare was a very long waiting list (3 years) for this kind of psychiatric treatment but even through an expensive non-insured private clinic the meds are only £60 (I guess about $80ish) for a months supply here -and that's top tier pricing. The pharmaceuticals companies in the US are out of control!!

I just wanted to point out that those prices are (most likely) without any drug coverage from a US insurance provider. It is likely that the plan being applied to that is only covering it directly against the deductable which could be pretty large. For example, I have a high-ish deductable plan in the US of about $3500 but I only pay $35 for my Vyvanse just because my plan has drug coverage. The drug coverage is based on the formulary of the insurance provider you have so be sure to check in on that. Also, Vyvanse generics roll out in the next few years I believe so that's good news as well!

It lasts me all day and I don’t have the come down I usually do when I used adderall. Firstly, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your content. Some days it's quite good, but my Vyvanse never lasts long like everyone else. I take 40mg as soon as I wake up. Some days I feel it is working, other times, I feel it starts to work and notice effects for MAX 3-4 hours. However, there are days when it makes absolutely no difference. As an ADHD working mom who recently switched to Vyvanse, I LOVE IT. I am way more productive in my corporate workplace where I have to constantly be on the go for 8-10 hours a shift. The first day, I cleaned my whole car. Even the windows. You know you’re really productive when you’re cleaning the windows lol. One of my favorite outcomes that I’ve noticed for me, is an increased amount of optimism, in a lot of situations where I would normally be anxious. I do combine it with my Buspirone. However the combination of the Buspirone & my prior medication, didn’t really do much. I was still very anxious. So I think this combo, is amazing. I’m so happy. It is expensive which is the only downside. I have good insurance & it’s $50 a month. Which, is less expensive than I’ve heard from others so I recognize my privilege there. I heard there may be off brands coming out soon. 🤞🏻 My job also pays full tuition so I am going back to school soon & grateful to have this.

I have been taking vyvanse for about a year and I would say it has helped my ADHD symptoms mostly, but not so much executive function and memory. My psychiatrist has now added intuniv to see if it helps plug the gaps whilst also lower my BP a bit. My only worry is the weight gain side effect. I'm currently on 30xr adderall with a 15xr "booster" have a meeting with doc tomorrow about tolerance issues. 30xr still takes care of all my symptoms. However it wears off so quickly now, maybe 5 hours of actual focus, and that "motivation" feeling. The 15 booster /might/ bring it back up some days, but more often it does not. Thinking about asking to try Vyvanse since it seems to be the duration is my bodies issue. Anyone share a similar experience?

I have ADHD but I also have BED. Dr told me about Vyvanse she suggested that it'll help with both afflictions. Started taking it today and already I feel a major change. I had the best day at work today. Super productive doing things I'm not even meant to do. I feel really good. The price wasn't super bad for me. With my insurance a 30 day supply only costs me around $60. She started me on 30mg daily. But she said I will most likely need to have an increased dose at some point bc I'm a bigger guy. Even still, the copay will remain the same. If this med keeps on working like it has then I'm happy to pay the $60 a month

I am was on 30mg and upped to 50mg this week. It disturbs your sleep as I am having the same problems. Hopefully, the body will adjust. I'm 44 and diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. I started on Straterra and it helped with doing things I normally didn't want to do and would put off but it had some weird side effects. Switched to Adderall xr 10mg to start and it did nothing. I actually would take it and go to sleep. Went up to 30mg and it worked ok and I could focus for the most part but still not quite enough and it wore off before my work day ended. Starting Vyvanse this week hopefully it helps me focus the way I see so many review videos speak of their adhd medications. Hopefully it's the one that works for me.Thanks for the video.
