My favorite F-4 Phantom II nickname is "World's largest distributor of MiG parts" and to answer Stick's question, the Germans nicknamed their Phantoms Luftverteidigungsdiesel, which translates to Air Defense Diesel

​@espe1317 the engines were run fuel rich to keep the combustion temps down and extend the operational lifespan of the engines. During wartime they were supposed to be leaned out, which fixed the smoke trail and gave more thrust, but chewed up the engines faster.

My dad was in the artillery during the late 60's. He says he doesn't like the F-4 because they used to make practice runs on his unit while they were conducting training. They had no idea the F-4s were there until they pulled up. Scared the crap out of everyone when they did it.

One of my earlier memories was my dad working on an F-4 Phantom II with navy colors, in our basement. I think it was one of the things that got me into combat aircraft, and history in general. And Bo, the Vietnam-ish sounding music was a good editorial touch imo.

I gotta say, they should make the napalm a damage-over-time weapon like drowning where you have a few seconds to escape and save your crew, but if you are immobilized in the flames you will have to bring another vehicle out. If you were within say 5 meters/yards of the bomb itself when it detonated you have a chance of the flames sticking to your vehicle and needing two extinguishers to put the fire out and save your crew

About what I expected for my first time joining. First round I made the bright move of parking on main street in a YAG. 2nd round I was doing better in the KV1, but I blue-screened in the middle and couldn't rejoin. Sounds like I made it to 4th before the game J'd me out. Looking forward to more though!

Ive never heard of the Phantom being called "Double Ugly" outside of Newspaper articles. Never once have i found a Pilot or WSO actually calling it such. I know of "Double Ugly" For a Loadout Configuration, but the same newspaper articles that call the phantom such, also refer to the F-4E as the "Rhino"... Witch again ive never heard of. Where is this alias coming from, out of curiosity? Where did you find this information?

IDEA! Hide & Seek on the Vietnam map, but you and the hunters are only allowed to use the Huey, AH-1G and other Vietnam War Era Aerial Vehicles to hunt them down. there HAS to be Boats that scout and only 1 tank to scout with. use of Huey's to scout is allowed, same goes for planes.
