Been doing this for years. Pro tip: put this on an “open” sub, so it runs whenever it opens the specific excel workbook and the show all on the close, so it resets it back.

thanks for that awesome Video. If i do this, it manipulates every excel instance i open... is there a possibility to use this only on that specific workbook ? And the other excel-workbooks stay the same as they were before ?

For some settings yes and for others no. Try only usng the code that begins with "ActiveWindow"
@Ronnet3 жыл бұрын
You could put the "show interface" macro in the specific Excel file's thisworkbook "WindowDeactivate" procedure. This would trigger Excel to show the interface whenever you switch out of your specific Excel file. If you do this then you must also place the "hide interface" macro in the specific Excel file's Thisworkbook 'Open' and 'WindowActivate' for it to function properly. However, this is not flawless. Sometimes you switch out of the specific Excel file and it wont trigger the WindowsDeactivate. At which point you still end up opening new Excel files without the interface. This can be very frustrating, especially if you've developed the Excel tool to be used by others (who don't know how to show the interface and say you "broke" their Excel). So I've switched to a "light" version of the code which includes only the code that begins with "ActiveWindow" (since they are file specific) and the following code as well: CommandBars.ExecuteMso "MinimizeRibbon" With that command is added to the script it minimizes the Excel Ribbon instead of hiding it completely. So if the "WindowsDeactivate" code fails to trigger and a new Excel file is opened with the hidden interface then you can still show the full ribbon by double clicking on the visible part of the ribbon. But by minimizing the ribbon in your code you still free up a lot of screen real estate and hide all the buttons you don't want your users to see / use.

Can this be used to remove specific items from the Ribbon. For example the Refresh All option or the entire Queries and Connections section under the data ribbon.

How can I hide the excel top logo and file name with a macro? in this case also the minimize buttons (minus sign and small square) will be invisible.

Hi, just discovered this video. Great tutorial but i'm beginner in excel so i want to solve my problem but can't find the right keywords for the problem. Here's the idea : Whenever i input number/text to spesific cell (ex : cell A1) then the cell move automatically to the next row/column so i can input the data without click the next cell manually. How i do that? With macro or not? Hope you or whoever saw this comment understand and can help me. Thanks
@andrewevans90023 жыл бұрын
If you use the the TAB key when entering the data the cursor will move to the next column entry, if your press ENTER then it moves to the next row.
@miscuse80773 жыл бұрын
@@andrewevans9002Does that mean i must press it manually? Then it's not automatic. What i want is like this. I just have to do the input, after one cell filled with number/text on (ex : cell A1), then it move automatically to next row/column (ex: A2), without me press ENTER/TAB or move my cursor to the next cell (Row/Column). Is there any way to do that with or without macro? I'm sorry if i can't explain better, hope you could understand. Btw thanks for the response.
@Ronnet3 жыл бұрын
@@miscuse8077 I understand what you mean but how will you tell Excel that you have finished your input? Excel needs to know that an input is finished before it can trigger a macro. For example, you entered the value "1" in the cell A1. How will Excel know you have finished your input? Maybe you want to enter "11" instead. You signal that you have finished your input with either ENTER or TAB. It's possible to trigger a macro once an input has been entered. But since ENTER and TAB already do exactly what you want, you dont need a macro.

I do not see the same information when clicking on module that is shown. I do not even get the module option to see the information that is being shown. Trying to hide everything on excel document to have a clean looking dashboard but this doesn't seem to work with multiple hidden sheets and pivot tables.

I just add a boolean variable to the Sub. So: *Sub HideInterface(lblnVisibleState)* Then at the end of each of line, add *= lblnVisibleState* instead of true or false. So you just call the *HideInterface* Sub and put "True" or "False" after your call.
@ShawnShampoo9 ай бұрын
can you write the macro for me please
@396TurboJet9 ай бұрын
@@ShawnShampoo -- Sure. Call it as a Function. I know it's not really a function but it's easier. Then just add: HideInterface False to the beginning of your main macro to turn off the screen updating and the annoying popups. Just replace "False" with "True" at the end of your main macro to turn it all back on again. And you _must_ turn it all back on again. Function HideInterface(lblnScreenState) Application.DisplayAlerts = lblnScreenState Application.EnableEvents = lblnScreenState Application.ScreenUpdating = lblnScreenState End Function Remember that if you need to interact with the screen at any time, you have to turn it back on again.

The toggle works great, but if I have multiple sheets, it will still show the headings for the non-active sheets. How do I create a macro-code for every sheet in the workbook (without jumping to another sheet when I use a cmd-btn e.g.)
