@@matijajerman2005 two years later, I play Upright Bass in the bluegrass way and Electric Bass, I build banjos and ukuleles. Haven't touched a sax in a year since I sold my Tenor for vinyl, would love to buy a baritone sax or tuba someday still-

An excellent and interesting video. However, I would like to offer a suggestion--some viewers might not know what is meant be a 'half step', etc., so playing a Bb and then pressing the 2nd valve to produce A would illustrate this point more effectively by providing a 'side-by-side' contrast.

After playing tuba for a year, I'm envious because I can't get any of the fundamentals (pedal tones). I can get a few "false tones" such the Eb, D, Db, C...but nothing beyond that. I have a Conn 20J and an Olds 099.

Short answer: The tubing. 1 + 2 tubing is the same length as 3, but the 3 may be tuned differently than the 1 and 2, causing them to be a little off.

123 and 24 will give you an E. 1234 will give you a "Pedal" C.
