It looks like it'll be a story-based game mixed with supernatural elements. Probably gonna have dem feels. I'm sure many already know, but I'll share for those who don't. It starts with William Blake's poem, 'Auguries of Innocence', which many have interpreted as being a warning to mankind about the consequences for society when nature is mistreated. To further support this, you'll notice the oil, dead animals, etc. It might be set in a post-apocalyptic world. A little bit into the future judging by those light-up handcuffs. As for the floating humanoids, that's where the supernatural might come in. I'm guessing those are (the most wildest idea) aliens, who have come to earth for some unknown reason. Whether it be good or bad, I don't know. Notice Norman's stomach too. I did think about the horsemen of the apocalypse, but there are only 4 and in the video there are 5. There's a lot of symbolism in this video. You'll see that Norman has 6 "dog tags" which many think, including myself, look like tombstones. Looks uncomfortable honestly. Why would someone wear that? Something like that would have some weight to it. So again, it must symbolize something. An oil spill affects the ocean and the whole ecosystem. I guessing that this time humans really messed up and really did some serious damage to the whole planet. Kojima has had environmental messages in other games too I've heard. That's just my opinion. Either way, I'm looking forward to hearing more about this game.

I actually never payed much attention to Kojima's works, but after watching this trailer I gotta say... I'm Hyped!

It's interesting that the trailer starts with a quote from William Blake, a man who was know to be into occultism/mysticism. Add the fact Hideo is friends with Guillermo del Toro who happens to be into occultism himself. Interesting to see those 5 silloutes in the sky... The four Zoas and Albion? Looks like it's going to be a multi layered story dealing with social critiques as well as esoterism (mainly dealing with topics of the self). The poem also alludes to an esoteric axiom in various mystery schools, for example the Hermetic one: "'That which is above is the same as that which is Below", in very broad terms in deals with the symbiotic relationship between the Microcosmos (human) and the Macrocosmos (The universe itself). Interesting to see Reedus "resurrect" amongst fish, whales and, crabs and oil. Fishermen for the ancient Essenes (ignore bible's minstranslations) was a title given to priests with access so esoteric knowledge, Jesus was supposed to be a Fish King which represented his Sang Real (Royal Blood) heritage. Fisher Kings and/or Fisher High Priests were annointed with Myrrh oil. Whales... Jonah and the Whale, there are various interpretations for this, one of them being Johnah being inside his Unconscious (The Whale) and breaking free from his ignorance of himself (microcosmos) and ultimately the Universe (macrocosmos). Also when you think about it, a Whale is a massive fish. Crabs symbolism is associated with the Soul in a lot of esoteric traditions, some say is the gateway for Souls to incarnate into human bodies, but I haven't delved too much into the subject. It is also worth nothing that Crabs have exoskeletons (exoteric) and we humans have endoskeletons (esoteric). "As Within, so Without" another twist on the Hermetic axiom, which is why I think Hideo Kojima will present a multilayered story which ultimately shows the relationship between the individual and that which is supposedly outside him. So yes, we'll get social critiques (exoteric stories) as well as psychological critiques (esoteric stories). As far as Reedus is concerned, it seems the trailer points out the fact he is an annoited King (the oil and the cross)... exoterically he may become a leader of sorts while esoterically he'll become the King of his Unconscious, thus being able to govern himself.
