Another method is to trim a few milliseconds from the start of your chops right after the drum transients. This gives a similar effect to using envelopes but without causing the ducking effect since the attack stays intact. The timing of the chops won’t be affected much because you’re only removing a tiny bit. This approach also keeps the tails of the drum hits, giving the loop more of a "percussion loop" vibe compared to the envelopes technique. The new starting point of these tails acts as softer transients, especially noticeable if you create a sample loop without adding extra drums.

Its really fun but very different feeling to a DAW. I like both for different reasons

great content as always 👌..but why simply not cut the sample a bit later and add less attack? Maybe it`s new with the firmware update, but exporting patterns gives you individual stems to import in your DAW.

That is another option yes, I've found that sometimes that can knock chops out of time a little but yeah, I could have included it too

You don’t actually need “side-chain” compression - you can achieve much the same effect by having a compressor across your main material set to a high ratio, but with the threshold also set high. Then you just mix in a (very) overbalanced kick (or whatever) above the threshold level in order to get the side-chain-like effect.

Thanks for that. The envelopes can help get a bit more duck as well 👍

MPC stem separating on the standalone is trash imo, it filters a good majority of drums but you’ll still hear fades in & out every so often

Yeah I've not had much luck with it either. I think it really depends on the original sample...

Shattered, same problem here.....house to hot for my liking, sleep evading me. Boring F1. Great winner. Byebye MAX 😂. Lots of work restructuring my house for sale by a new realtor, new photos made today by me. No time for beats. Nice video, off course..... no buts there.

Elo mate. Been watching your vids for a while now, and am finally picking up my first SP next Monday if all goes to plan! ;) Could you listen to a track named "Mr Right On' by Calibre, and try and do something similar? it'd be really wicked if you could demo summin like that? The B-line is from a Miles Davis tune I think. Proper nice jazzy vibes... Do you have an affiliate link for BaxMusic, or Anderton's or anywhere as I'll purchase through that if so. Cheers bud ;)

If you can't remove or reduce the drums in the sample using EQ then don't use it
