but on linux screen you have android auto, so you can mirror screen from your phone. you don't need install anything on linux device because you can do it on your phone.

Yes you can you’re using the original Bluetooth connection. I used my original car’s Bluetooth with the Linux screen

Heard of this issue. That’s one of the critical points against the Linux operating screens. Heard someone retrofitted a plug for the 12v behind the main unit to reset it when it crashes

You forgot to mention that these Android touchscreen systems do not support USA LTE bands, like Band 13 (Verizon uses it) so it makes such connectivity useless for any US customer.

sorry but 90% of users need something reliable and fast. I can get most of my functions and apps needed from my phone using car play or android auto on the linux version. also if you go android you will need to constantly update that system for your apps and security. no thanks.... in other words... once the android updates stop... that unit is useless. for the linux model... not a problem.. just upgrade your phone when you need to. as long as carplay works or android auto on your phone. you will always have the latest and greatest.

With the original system, when I start the car and put it in reverse gear, I immediately get the rearview camera. How does it work with the Android version? Does the OEM part work immediately, or is it waiting for Android?

Will linux screen work with entrynav head unit? I have entrynav headunit with 6.5" screen in bmw 3 f31 2017 ( Entrynav headunit is like basic function only, and it exist in europe market only, is not profesional level headunit like NBT, but use same video cable and it is possible to use original display from nbt on entrynav head unit (requires coding on headunit for bigger resolution))

I have an E70 CIC and evaluating both Android and Linux upgrade. I only need AppleCarplay so Linux seems a better fit. However cannot understand if GPS signal is the one from iPhone only for Linux and does not use OEM one. Can you help?

When you using the CarPlay , it use your iPhone navigation, it has nothing to do with your OEM GPS
