Phil you amaze me ever video👍👍 In the late 50's early 60's my dad used to camp at beech lookout while surveying roads in the state forest. It would have been wild country back then.👍👍

Great video mate you certainly go the extra miles to get that shot, we only see the finished product the amount of time behind the scene you do is awesome thanks mate, have you ever thought about snake gators for your legs for when your wandering through the bush ?, could save your life when your so far from medical help, just a suggestion all the best mate looking forward to some more videos.
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
There's some work under them for sure, but I enjoy it all, so it's a win win 👍 Got some gators, but seldom use them. Not a bad idea though! Cheers 🍻

Hey Phil, really enjoying these vids. I live a few hours north of you in the northern rivers. I’m in the market for a bike, can’t decide between the DR 650 or the CRF 300. First world problems ….
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
Cheers Craig 👍 Ah the bike choice. Hmmm, if your over 85 kg, and want to cart around another person or plenty of gear, get a DR. If your lighter, and wanna do the kind of stuff I do in the videos, get a Rally 😁 Both great machines, DR way more power though 👍

Awesome video as always Phil. Good to find out about that Styx Forest Road - a great link up! We tried to stay at Thungutti in December '21 but it was wet and very boggy throughout, so we wimped out and got an apartment at the nearby Eco lodge. We also did the Point Lookout walk and saw... clouds 🙄😅 We're going back again this Xmas and hoping for dry weather and views. Which site were you on - was it the walk-in one right up the back?
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
Cheers David 😎👍 Thungutti- I picked a "walk in " site, then road the bike in ...lol An interesting place to stay (2 night min) is Stix River Cabins. There's a cool waterfall about 500 meters down stream. Tip, less chance of clouds after lunch 👍
@CaptainCrankyMotovlogger Жыл бұрын
@@MidCoastAdventures Yeah thanks mate, Walk in means also ride in, we all know that 😁 Yes, saw the cabins - there are a few options from very basic to a luxury on at the Point. It will be good to have the opportunity to head up there after luch, hopefully :)

Thank you Phil for another great video, looking forward to hearing from you on how the 605 tyres preformed ? are they any better or worse than the 606's ??
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
Cheers Peter 👍 As for tyre comparison, the 606 are great on and off-road (70/30 dirt to road)- but wear pretty quick. I used to get around 3500 kays at best. The 605 is great also on and off road. Tyre wear should be slower- in theory... They're a great, low-budget 50/50 tyre for ADV riding 👍
@MrHorsePony Жыл бұрын
@@MidCoastAdventures .. How did they handle On and Off road compared to the the 606's ??
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
@@MrHorsePony 606 better for more serious off-road. And 605 a good mix for both on and off. Think of the 605 as "All terrain" tyres, and the 606 as "mud tyres" Both work fine for adv riding- depending how wild the country is you ride in 👍
@MrHorsePony Жыл бұрын
@@MidCoastAdventures .. What sort of mileage will you get compared to the 606's ??
@graemeshaw9716 Жыл бұрын
Great video Phil. Just out of curiousity, I see you film in 60fps (as opposed to perhaps 50fps) Any particular reason for this? I see a few utubers using the PAL format do the same.🤔 Many thanks Graeme
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
Ah good question Graeme. Well, the simply answer is, I just used 60fps because it was a high setting on my Gopro that I knew would produce clear, smooth footage. My DSLR is at 50 fps. Both mix well together, and both seem clear to me. So no good technical advice from me mate 🤣 Cheers 🍻
@peterbowley6484 Жыл бұрын
G'day mate, just wondering if you got the 605 on yet and your thoughts on it.
@MidCoastAdventures Жыл бұрын
So far so good Peter. Only done 400 kays- 50/50 dirt and tar. Will do a video on it when I've done 1000 or more kays. Cheers mate 👍
