Watching these videos of all these really cool Theater Rooms has me thinking about how 17 months ago I had given up on this hobby after my $1,200 Da-Lite screen was ruined by moisture buildup, and the dealer wouldn't do anything for me even though I mounted it to the wall exactly as the instructions said... Then one day I was watching KZbin on my LG TV and seen a thumbnail of a massive 150" screen surrounded by a really awesome wood cabinet and just decided to click on it. This super enthusiastic guy was sitting in his room talking about Home Theaters with such energy and passion, so I watch a few more videos and got to one about DIY acoustic panels and was I totally reinvigorated and inspired to get back into the hobby! So a lot of hard DIY work and about $8,000 later and now I'm extremely happy with my room, and I'm very proud of what I accomplished! So thanks Michael for bringing me back from the brink! : )

Plus he had a high nit 8K display as a computer monitor that was really incredible when playing back well mastered HDR 4K footage. Blacked out theater as well. This will be a must watch and the owner is a big DIY’er himself as well! Enjoy everyone.

Blimey, loving that collection of gear. It's like visiting a museum. I'm not convinced about running the surrounds as full range. It won't matter, because I doubt they're sent much low frequency stuff, but when they are, it won't be possible to EQ it as well as if it was coming from multiple subs. No one would notice, but Caleb is a serious enthusiast so I'd assume he'd want the best response possible.

Wow, Just wow. Caleb, thank you for showing off your setups! Every audio piece was carefully chosen, and it shows. Your HiFi setup is a reflection of your personality (which is what each of us wants to convey, in some way). You have 4 endgame speakers (Salon2, Dutch and Dutch, Genelec "the ones" series, and Morrison speakers)! That's crazy...like a fox :) Much respect.

Nice to see someone who tries the unconventional path to great sound. I believe sometimes it is more satisfying when things are not traditional, yet sound fantastic. As a car audio fan, those rockfords are insane, if given the right power they will outperform most purpose built home theatre subs. Keep up the ingenuity.

Hi Caleb hope u read this comment!!! I’m a diy guy!!! All the speakers and subwoofers in my system were build by me!!! I have a 8500h too like u do. For a long time I was a big fan of Rockford fosgate subwoofers!!! I had T1s T2s punch everything from Rockford!! But recently I purchased a dayton audio 19” it just blew away the Rockfords that I sold every Rockford I had and filled it with daytons!!! Car subwoofers just feel very good on the paper spec wise and wattage wise!! But when it comes to pure responsive accurate bass pro audio subwoofers is what we want!!! U just have to make that decision to see it for urself. Like ur theatre so much coz most of it looks like what I have in my setup. Also if u can, run the 8500h in preamp mode and direct all channel signal to hifi external amp. U will definitely hear the difference!!! Even if u had external amp for the front channel the pre out of the denon is electrically connected to the internal amp of the denon, and there will be a loss!!! Just for demo, calibtrate it with preamp mode and just listen to it stereo. Ull hear a big difference!!!!

Questions for Caleb - your QN800A as a PC monitor, do you work and play on it? Do you have it at 100% scale and can you read the text from you seated position ? How far are you from the monitor? Do you "feel" any input lag form mouse movement vs your old monitor? Did you try the LG Oled as a PC monitor at any point and if so, what are your thoughts vs Samsung, and I am aware of the potential burn in issue with the Oled. - Thanks!

Even though I appreciate these epic home theatre setups, at the end of the day, even a budget system can sound fairly half decent at medium to High volumes! For me a true quality set up... is how good it can sound at low volumes!
@Youthman2 жыл бұрын
I have heard some budget systems that sound way better than half decent. It’s not about the amount that you spend, but rather the implementation, calibration and proper set up that makes the difference.
@totalplonker8242 жыл бұрын
@@Youthman I agree the type of calibration is important as well as the way It Is implemented! But like I mentioned the true test comes when you can play your set up at low volumes... I have a couple of setups ranging from budget to high-end, but the thing is... I would rather listen to my budget setup with shielded cables then listen to my high-end set up with unshielded cables! There's one thing that I cannot put up with... when the Silent scenes come into play and ones attention is turned to those subtle electrical noises (EMI/RF) 😟 Mind you I'm not just a avid listener Iam also a bit of a stickler when it comes to any kind of unwanted noises! Keep up the good work 👍
