It would help a little, but the real problem is your weight is being supported by the board on the snow. The physics of it don't work well with a wheel. I've got a pretty solid way they could go with it, but I'm probably gonna offer it to them more officially so they can't just yoink it.
@greenanubis

Wheel sinks down and spins if the snow is not hard enough. Putting it in the middle wont fix that problem. Let the engineers and wanketeers do their thing.

I think your review was fair and honest. The only curiosity I have is how a 120lb Rider might fair on it? If you know any women or teenagers that snowboard in that weight range it would be cool to see if the reduced weight allows the design to work a little better. Thanks!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. A woman or teenager around 150-170lbs would probably have an entirely different experience.

I actually assumed that a lighter person would not have a good experience. The biggest issue he had was gaining traction, which would be worse for a lighter person. It’s the same reason why a lot of guys who put snow plows on their pickups also load the bed with sand or concrete or anything else heavy they can find - you want that weight for better traction.
@TheTyisawesome

Seeing how it was struggling for traction the reduced weight will probably only worsen the issue

I did some looking myself and found a rear mounted track called "eltrack mover" by Ilia Muchkin its a really cool design that looks like it would fit on any snowboard. Quite similar to the power traverse. The design in the video i have also seen replicated a few times over the years to middling success, Mike in the Woods has a wheel design that works from him. Then the final design i have seen is called "Electric Moto Snowboard" the best way i can think to describe it is a jetski and a snowmobile got together to make a snowboard. It looks really fast but not sure how much of the snowboarding feel will be left given the segway like handle and how heavy it it.

as someone who's never snowboarded, really dumb suggestion: turn it into a onewheel. get another snowboard (reason 1 this is stupid) cut a hole in the middle and put that motor / wheel unit in the middle, between your feet. center of gravity will improve, friction will improve, etc. this company is still... sketchy to put it lightly, but it might be a fun project.

Only good thing i see about this board is going between lifts and getting a regular board to go downhill lol

Cool idea for a thing but not 2500$ cool... at least how it seems to work as it is. Might be a cool gift for someone well within that weight limit. Is it water proof? Could it be used on beach (the hard part where water hardens ground)? You should have some teens play with it as a contrast. I'm sure there would be tons of volutary teens to try it out and you could film their reactions. Only thing i'm thinking it could be good for is on skihills, moving from one lift to another without snowmobile (workers having transportation from lift to another or a toy to play with after work)

Okay, I've never used a snow board, but something that kinda seems obvious to me is that the motor is in the wrong place. It needs to be in the middle, not the tail. I'm sure it could be moved on a new deck, and this might be more useful as a kit, but I'm pretty sure a certain electric skateboard company would have kittens if they tried to do that for production models.

I'd say that it would have been better if they could have put the wheel in the center under the rider, as the steering would be better, and the rider's weight could be taken advantage of to help traction and make the snowboard perform better. But, a giant hole in the middle of a snowboard is a little hard to work around in terms of strength and flexibility of the board. Also, I agree that a track would be a massive improvement, but the issue of the motor placement would remain if they keep it in the tail, and it would still have the problem with steering and control. Cool idea, but even if I did snowboard, which I don't. I'm looking at this from an engineering and stability point of view. I wouldn't buy this as it stands now. Very interesting video, and a more than fair assessment of the board. Nicely done, Major ;)
