I can't even pin down the emotion this song makes me feel. I'm not sure there's one word for it. It's such a beautiful mixture of bitter happiness and quiet sorrow. To me, this song sounds like triumph over some terrible adversity. There's joy for surviving, but profound sadness looking back at what was overcome. I don't know if anybody else gets a similar feeling from this song.

I went to a super stressful school last year and the year before. I was so unhappy and I felt so alone and like everyone wanted to make my life more difficult. In my mind, I was so focused on my tests all my assignments and how stressed out I was. I was in a horrible place..all in my mind. But now I see it. I left there, and now there’s so much more to life. I cherish everyone that I have a good conversation with, and I see the bigger goals I have in life. I’m not so focused on that test and how stupid I feel because I have bigger goals than being academically smart. I look back at the fire and I am so deeply saddened that I went through that. Now I am happy and I cry looking at how far I’ve come. I’m not the same person I was last year. It’s this horrible nostalgia to remember last year. But also so wonderful and I would never be this grateful for the life I have now without the experience. Thank you for this song..

Back when I was in high school I would listen to this song a lot. I worked with my close friends at the same place at that time and man we would always be doing stupid shit. Sneak into our friend’s pool while their parents were asleep late at night, late night drives, bonfires and just have a good time without a worry in the world. Literally nothing else mattered besides how we felt and how much we would all laugh and enjoy each others presence in that moment. I’ll never forget that friend group and all the memories ❤️ this song reminds me of them all the time and I’ll cherish it forever.
