I´ve discovered this album years ago and listened to this with my husband. We both liked it very much. And although we were used to have little talks every day, in 22 years there´s never been an awkard silence between us. He passed away five months ago today. I´m devastated and am slowly surfacing to life again. Today in the afternoon I was cleaning while listening to a streaming news program when, on a break, suddenly this song starts playing. I started shaking and crying... I never, *ever* , listened to that song or band on any radio nor streaming here (Argentina), and it just occurred to me to put that program while cleaning, to have some company. Thank you everyone, this lyric interpretation is inspired by my Grandparents. When my Grandfather passed away, my grandmother passed away a month after. As we think she no longer has a will to live. Okay, let me put my comment from a discussion about the actual meaning of the song from a lyric video (not the official one): I started to listen to this song when I was around 5. I didn't know the lyrics and I actually didn't really care about them (also I'm not english). Then I had some kind of a "break", I mean I forgot about this song because there were so many things to think about... For example I had to move to the nearby town with my mother without my father (it was kinda because of him, only screaming, yelling...) about a year ago. It's only now that I realized how meaningful is this song. My great grandmother had dementia. She passed away May 25th, 2022. She loved going for car rides, so she peacefully passed with her grandson during a lake side drive. She was a strong, compassionate, loving, and intelligent person. This song hits differently now, because this reminds me of dementia. I will always remember and relish the times I had with her, and hopefully, never forget her.
