At 34:32 it shows you'd get there almost 30 minutes faster taking the I5 why not do that instead of hwy99? I live in the Sacramento area and every time I take a trip to Socal it's through the 5 since it's faster almost and hour or more I'd say. And how much was each "fill-up"?

Hello! I've driven the I-5 route between SoCal and Bay Area & Sacramento numerous times, so this trip I wanted to test out the charging infrastructure along highway 99 instead. I started at home in SoCal with 100% charge, and at Visalia I spent $29.52 supercharging, then $9.28 at Turlock, and that got me to Dunnigan with about 20% state of charge. It took just under $150 of charging total to get to Seattle.

@Professor.Y thanks for the reply! Most road trip videos I've seen people usually have free supercharging or miles couldn't find any videos before yours showing charging costs. I thought It was a little counterproductive at first going though the 99, but I thought it was since you're passing through more cities theres more superchargers.

Just wondering for your model x, do you have a rear camber kit? i heard that car eats up rear tires!

My OEM tires lasted me 32,000 miles with the OEM suspension. 32K is reasonable and all it really takes is proper tire pressures and a proper alignment and anyone should be able to get that kind of mileage out of them. At 42K miles I installed the Unplugged Performance rear camber and also rear toe arms kit, but my intent there was to allow me to align more towards the lowest suspension setting (for aero/range improvements).

Im having hard time deciding between MX plaid vs MX long range with 5 seats.. Not sure how well the seats in the middle row in plaid be comfortable for people there without arm rests and also losing the storage space with the plaid 6 seater. Would u say the extra 9 miles difference between plaid and LR worth it ? With batteries degradation etc ? How battery do u reckon u lost with that mileage ? I actually did the same mileage as u did , only on my model Y LR

Before I bought it, I was concerned about the X Plaid's second row captain's seats not being practical, and it turns out that my suspicions were correct for my case. Not having arm rests, and just that huge empty useless space in the middle is quite annoying and limiting for my needs. I wish they made the Plaid with the 5 seat configuration. My personal opinion is to not focus so much on the difference of 9 miles in the EPA estimated maximum range. When you're just doing normal day-to-day stuff around town, you're only going to be charging the battery to around 80% maximum anyways, and if you really needed that extra 9 miles of range for the day, then you could always charge it up a little bit higher before you start the day. On roadtrips you won't notice the difference in 9 miles of range because given charging curves, it's not really practical to supercharge to 100%. So those extra 9 miles are really only helpful if you start out the roadtrip at 100% and you can go an estimated 9 miles more before your first charging stop. Everything after your first charging stop you won't notice those 9 miles at all. Hope that helps give you some context for your decision!

Well the X Plaid has only been out since 2022, and this is the highest mileage X Plaid out there. So although technically it's not yet a typical high mileage car in excess of 200K miles, there's no other known X Plaid with this many miles.
