I've heard alot about him. Clearly talented but this vid doesn't display the skill of a champion imo. Too passive. One note the whole time. Pulled guard literally 100% of the match. Champion needs offense, not just to put on a class about endlessly pulling guard and endlessly working for the same heel hook (and not getting it) for 13 min straight.

@@Cokey96 every well rounded fighter trains Jiu Jitsu, otherwise when the Jiu Jitsu guy gets a hold of you you’re finished. Dropping to the floor like that is his individual choice it’s got nothing to do with Jiu Jitsu in general, all Jiu Jitsu matches start from the feet and all good Jiu Jitsu schools teach takedowns

I wouldn't call this pulling guard, he just dropped into guard. if the other guy did the same then they probably handfight a bit and eventually grab a leg. pulling guard is essentially a reverse takedown, where one drops into guard but pulls the other into it as they drop.

How exactly are you supposed to beat the guy that instantly lays down, and NEVER gets up? Genuine question. It seems like there's nothing you can do about it without putting yourself at a disadvantage. I feel like the people compaining about it aren't even complaining about grappling, they're complaining because it's not really interesting to see a dude trying to engage while the other one just lays there and waits for contact. Mikey literally tore someone’s leg in one of his last fights. The only fight that night that resulted in long standing damage, out of other martial arts like Muay Thai and boxing. I’d consider that a fight.
