I normally avoid dnd streams that are conference style but with your comment I realized I haven't even thought about it with high rollers. Maybe it's the decent quality mics, the even level of sound across everyone or that they started it together but I've been really happy with it

Can I just say, I absolutely love the look of mild panic on Marks face when the party suggests putting the extra-dimensional chest in the extra-dimensional bag. Way back in the day, I had a particularly clever player one shot my BBEG because at the time I didn't know the "Bag of holding inside a bag of holding" rule.

I’ve been so many more negative comments on high rollers recently and it makes me pretty sad. Its reminding me of the worst of critical role when everyone just hated on marisha and would correct every small mistake. After all dnd is a game, and its THEIR game, of course we are all passionate about the story and characters but i just don’t see the need to nitpick everything if it doesn’t cause huge consequences. They aren’t playing to be perfect and get very rule right. If the players are enjoying the game then its fine, mark is an amazing dm and its obvious the gang love him and doing this every week. Forgetting something is a ritual spell or not fully understanding a wordy spell is not a big deal at all, and if the players aren’t complaining.. oh well move on. They play for the story not the tactics and rules. Sorry i just don’t see why people feel the need to complain and nitpick about something they are supposedly enjoying. :)

If it helps, people who are more invested are more likely to comment and nitpick. For every complaining comment there's 10 happy viewers who didn't feel the need to post. Not that it helps the content creators who just want to know that their work is valued, but, you know :)

I didn't know how much I would enjoy just all the npcs that actually care for the party members, like Faeth and Herald. It's nice to know the characters have those people who miss them when they're gone and actually having close friends outside the PC's. Idk, I guess I didn't notice it as much in Lightfall or maybe the current situation makes it more meaningful to have those small human interactions.

28:19 - The most handy feature of the Haversack is that whenever you reach into it, whatever you're looking for is always magically on top, so you don't need to rummage around for it like you do with a Bag of Holding or Portable Hole. 1:40:00 - Oh great, it's Boss Nass. 1:44:52 - They're like kobolds whenever anyone mentions King Torg (all hail King Torg). 2:01:45 - Bullywugs are ridiculous. I think the majority of people picture them as actual muppets, with the flip-top mouths and flailing arms and all. 2:14:45 - Lucius: "And I thought [pant] it smelled bad [pant] on the outside." Interestingly, The Unexpectables also just had an adventure involving bullywugs and their froghemoth god. Things went down in a pretty similar way too, except that they were victorious (with a genius play by Panic). The little muppety bastards are always good for shenanigans.

The same goes for the bag of holding, you need to think of the item you wanna pull out
@arcticbanana664 жыл бұрын
@@caseyamundson2673 Rereading the entries in the DMG, they both say that it requires an action to retrieve an item, but only the Haversack specifically mentions the item you want always being on top.

@@arcticbanana66 Read the whole description of a bag of holding. You 'only' retrieve the item you think of otherwise the bag appears empty. The Haversack always has everything within it, that's why something being on top matters.
@arcticbanana662 жыл бұрын
@@Lucky13Ravens At no point does the description say that the bag "appears empty" or that you need to think of a specific item to retrieve it, nor do the descriptions in AD&D, 3.5, or Pathfinder. The older editions _do_ say that "Retrieving a specific item from a _bag of holding_ is a move action, unless the bag contains more than an ordinary backpack would hold, in which case retrieving a specific item is a full-round action", which indicates that, at least in those editions, the bag _does not_ "appear to be empty" since it takes time to find what you're looking for. However, 5E simplified retrieving items to just "an action", so the "always on top" bit from the haversack is just a neat bit of flavor. Transcribed directly from the DMG page 153-154: "Bag of Holding _Wondrous item, uncommon_ This bag has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter at the mouth and 4 feet deep. The bag can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet.The bag weighs 15 pounds, regardless of its contents. Retrieving an item from the bag requires an action. If the bag is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. If the bag is turned inside out, its contents spill forth, unharmed, but the bag must be put right before it can be used again. Breathing creatures inside the bag can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate. Placing a _bag of holding_ inside an extradimensional space created by a _Heward's handy haversack, portable hole,_ or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened."

I don't think Tom realizes how Secret Chest spell works. It isn't a bag of holding its a regular chest that is 3ftx2ftx2ft that can just disappear for security reasons. Since it's only 3ft long even longswords and longbows won't fit in the chest because they are too long. I think the spell is kinda pointless for 5k gold.

Maybe they’ll home brew it a bit to make it viable compared to the bag of holding.

Love reading comments and seeing the rules Nazis seething because they aren’t playing Adventurers league style. They play mostly correctly and get stuff wrong just like literally every table. On top of that they are streaming so they can’t always just bust out the PHB or DM guide for a 20 minute rules lawyering. The only genuine complaint I would say against the party is that they still get decision locked pretty easily

The mental strain to not repeat "Croakatoa" when I heard it intensified when I heard every NPC and PC repeat it, such an excellent spin on a reference. My only personal complaint would be the Froghemoth pronunciation since its a mix of Frog and Behemoth and I'm pretty adamant about it being the Bee-he-muff pronunciation rather than the Beh-heh-moth pronunciation, but that's just a me thing, the rest of the episode was glorious as always guys
