Nearly three years, countless hours of begging, and two million views later, we finally released a band video. You're welcome. P.S. Still didn't have any percussionists available to be in the video. Don't murder us.

I’m in marching band as a freshman and i really wished more people realized how much work we put into our routines and memorization. We just had an away game 2 weeks ago and their people on the bleachers were yelling “get off the field! we want football” and that pissed everyone of us off. Our instruments were definitely not worth their time.

Having been in band all four years in High-school back in 2007-2011 with a class composed of jocks, stoners, gangster kids, scene and emo kids, metalheads, all different types minus preps. We had one dude that was the super band geek and everyone else was fairly normal. Basically our band didn't look anything resembling the niche band geek type at all in anyway whatsoever. It wasn't until we went off to the school band meet up where you saw the other high-school bands and watch them perform. You then would rate and say what you had to say about the instrument you played in regards to how they performed and such. Or when every now and then a high-school would venture over to ours and we'd perform a concert together. Within these instances we'd see the bands that actually looked like band geeks. The whole stereotyped look and nerdyness. I mean, it wasn't just the band either. Talking to people from other schools about how they're school is was super weird. Our school was way different in the aspect where everyone pretty much interacted with everyone. Sure, you had your groups and such. But nothing like cliques and so forth like what was always depicted. Which apparently wasn't entirely true for others schools. Overall it was a pretty unique experience especially when comparing it to others and so forth. If say the best part about band is that when it came to finals our final was performing the concert. So the day of finals I'd bring in rock band and everyone would play that. We had two tvs so it'd either be RockBand people played or Smash Bros or Mortal Combat or whatever else there happened to be. But Rockband was always the big one. But all in all. Didn't relate to any of these honestly.

I totally get the tuba player emptying his spit valve because, no joke, when I would empty mine it would drain for literally 30 seconds at least which doesn’t sound long but to people who don’t know and to empty spit out such a small place that’s quite long. Literally after a whole day of playing I’d be flooded and it got so bad that my band director asked me to bring a large towel and empty my valve over that. It was so crazy. It’s been 3 1/2 almost 4 years since I’ve played and low key kinda miss it. Caring your band because once you graduate and you don’t get to play you may think you can’t wait to graduate and not play anymore but yet you could drop out of band but they don’t and then after graduation it hits you I’m not in the band anymore and that’s when you start missing it. Honestly as a percussion player I'm always giving dirty looks at those who are emptying spit, mainly because half the time they empty their spit in area I have to be in, and occasionally sit on the floor at because e don't get chairs in percussion for the most part at my school >_>

My jazz band/ advanced Trumpets- Obnoxious and loud, out of seven only one trumpet is good. Blasts when they mess up. Always has something to say. Honestly pretty funny. The comic relief. Gets all the good parts. Saxophones- Gets most of the attention. The "chill" kids. Always get solos. All boys? Plays meme music (oof). Can't swing 16th notes (it's not that hard!) *Bari* Can't hold out a low note. *Soprano* Puts case in the wrong spot. Plays trumpet music even though they have their own music. Clarinets- Believe that they are the smartest instruments. Can play high notes AND low notes, but a with a bad reed, can't play any notes. Make fun of the flutes. Always asking eachother for a reed. Plays trumpet parts because trumpets get the good parts. *Bass Clarinets* Only play quarter notes and 8th notes but always get the rhythm wrong. Trombones- Constantly playing seven nation army. Can't get the slide position right. Percussion- Always hitting people with drumsticks. Triangle solo? SLOW DOWN! NOT SO LOUD! Are you sure we don't need cowbell in this part? *Drum set* Too many fills. Flutes- Annoying. Always blowing through their instruments while the director is talking. Did I forget any? Probably. I'll edit later.

To add to the percussion one: Extremely loud. Either has to play in every measure or about 4 out of 400.

The part with the spit really got me. I'm a trombone player that switched from a peashooter to a 10.5 inch bass trombone, and the difference in spit production was large to say the least. One time, one of my fellow trombone players was paying attention when I emptied my spit valve and was like "WTF" when he saw how much came out.

I wasn't in band for a long time but I feel the majority of these on a SPIRITUAL LEVEL. - Also God that spit one is too relatable. Made me feel bad for dumping it all out on the wooden floor and causing the next great flood of saliva. - One time in class this show off was playing his trombone in our section and decided to tip his instrument up, and all the collected spit in the slide came out through his mouthpiece and sloshed onto his face/mouth. Honestly it was the best scene I ever saw in band! 😂👌

We're forgotten until one of us is chewing gum so the director makes everyone BUT the gum chewer do push ups. And when someone makes a crossbow out of a clothes hanger, stick tape, rubber bands, and pencils. And when cymbal polish gets on the stage curtains. And when they pin an Oreo to the wall. And when we've gone through two slapsticks this year so far playing sleigh ride, so the band director had to get out the one he made with his dad, and give it to the person who broke the other two to play. Things are pretty wild back in the percussion section.
