I didn’t even date in high school but everyone assumed I was dating my, not then, girlfriend. She and I didn’t date back then nor were we interested in each other in that way then. However, my sexuality was known in school, despite me not dating, so people drew their own conclusions. It did cause some drama as the boy my girlfriend was dating back then got super jealous any time I hung out with her. She was my best friend and I was hers so…yeah. When I told my friend how aggressively mean to me he was being behind her back…she was absolutely furious. And then he ran off and tried to avoid her when she wanted to sit down and have a conversation with him about it. They ended up breaking up. We later learned this was a good thing because he was a creep and kinda was throwing up red flags about future behavior. He got completely thrown out of the friend group when these became obvious after high school. I’m still friends with most of my high school friends. I fell into a good group. And obviously I do date my girlfriend now. It didn’t happen the way the rumors always assumed but I guess it did happen. No pining involved though. I just realized one day that I was also romantically in love with her, told her, and she said she reciprocated. It’s been 10 years now. Petty drama wasn’t a big thing in my friend group. We were all too blunt and a mixed gender group anyway. We got along great mostly and liked looking after each other. We all had huge protective streaks. So my drama tended to be more real world drama than petty school drama. My siblings were the ones that got the petty drama. My brother only has one friend from back then he still talks to (he was the best man at his friend’s wedding), and my sister lost all contact with her old high school friends. Frankly, for the best. They had rather toxic friend groups back then. My sister still isn’t good at choosing her friends but my brother has made some amazing ones that really look out for him. I hope my sister meets a good friend sooner than later.

A lot of drama started about me back in 3rd grade. I guess my bully told all of my friends that i never liked them and i only used them for popularity. Oof, that last bit about the "more than female friends" hit home for me. While I didn't realize it at the time (not that it would have mattered much to change the minds of my classmates) I'm asexual, and since I don't caved under peer pressure, I never dated anyone in high school. Almost complete strangers, girls who knew whatever boy confessed to me would try and pressure me into accepting but people gave up on that plan after two years. It wasn't until after graduation did I realize why they gave up. A good chunk of people labelled me as a lesbian, probably mainly because I spent most of the last two years of high school surrounded by LGBT students/supporters as they were the greatest friends I could ask for at the time. And they were the only ones who weren't obsessed about dating.

My school (I am in 7th Grade...): If two people the opposite gender are seen talking to eachother, one of the girl’s friends would push her into the boy and scream, “Oooooooooo get it” and then run off... eh, that mostly happens if you are friends with “popular kids”... ~why I hate my school If you date someone in a different grade than you, you would be judged by EVERYONE. ... I know I'm a tad late, but yesterday, I just started High School. And I recently came across this vid, so I figured "Why not watch this??" Anywho, back in June, on the second to last day of school, I confessed my feelings to one of my best friends, and well, the feelings were mutual!! :D So, the next day, (aka, the last day of school) we were officially dating!! You see, my boyfriend isn't really one of the "popular kids," (but hey, neither am I XP) but he has a really great reputation. So, on the last day of school, we sat by each other, just the two of us, and rumors started spreading like wildfire ;-; This was a pretty big deal because we hadn't even told anyone about "us" yet. This one popular girl from our ELA class had asked me if my bf and I were dating, and being the socially awkward introvert I am, I responded "Um, yeah..." And she and her friends starting freaking out, and they said things like "OMG! You two are sooooo cute!!!" I felt really awkward... But now, I honestly don't care what people think! And, I just hope that our freshmen year is pretty chill :3

I'm currently a sophomore in high school and I ride the bus, the bus is usually crowded and almost no one has a seat to themselves, so I sit with someone every day. Towards the beginning of the year I changed who I sat with almost every time (I still do that in the morning cuz I'm not a morning person and won't sit next to someone who'd talk to me) but then I got some bus friends and started sitting next to them. Eventually I decided on one friend to sit with everyday cuz I liked talking to him the most (let's call him Billy, cuz I don't know any Billys) and two bus friends who were girls decided to tease us. They would say stuff like, "Ooo, Pencils and Billy? I ship it." Which was so annoying cuz I'm AroAce, I didn't talk to them for like a week every time they brought it up. Billy's a real friend, he's the only one I talk to about my depression, so I guess the fact that a guy and a girl talk often means they're dating to the rest of the school. I hate quarantine, those simple 30 minutes every day helped keep me going, and now I'm at my lowest point, tomorrow I'll be even lower. Having someone to talk to helps immensely, and now I don't have that. Billy is the only one I've told how deep my depression goes, and now I can't be around anyone who knows. I want to die
