This movie was definitely one of the most hyped movies of 2008. Disney apparently thought this one was so big, they didn’t even bother putting it on Disney Channel. Instead, they put it in actual movie theaters. Which to be honest you can already tell that they did because of the extremely high budget they’re showing. This is for sure the High School Musical movie that goes out with a big bang.

The thing about Sharpay coming back to East High was setup for a future spinoff series that never happened. What we did get is a spinoff movie for Sharpay (aka Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure), where the character growth actually sticks this time, and leaves Sharpay in a much more satisfying position given her talent and drive. It's got a cameo by Ryan in the credits. Also the love interest in that movie is a young Austin Butler!!

High school is somewhat fun, but it’s not THAT fun. Especially when you hit 12th grade and get this thing called “Senioritis” towards the end of the year where you are just sick and tired of everything and just wanna graduate already. They're different groups for sure, Jocks, Geeks, Stoners, Popular Girls and you rarely crossed over. I was a theatre geek and did a lot of musicals in High School. I'm old that was back in the 80s. My daughter was in School when the HSM movies came out. She like every young girl back then loved them. We saw HSM3 in the theatre. I live in Canada and our school way is very much a like. My High School in the 80s had a Huge Football & Hockey & Soccer team. The school had separate areas, the Art classes had its own wing. The shop classes had everything you could think of. Our Automotive class had 4 bays to work on cars. If you want to see exactly what a North American High School was like for me in the 80s watch "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". If you want to see what High School life in the 50s early 60s looked like watch "American Graffiti".

I feel like they were trying to make it a little more obvious that Gabriella is Hispanic in this movie for some reason, although the part where her mom talked in Spanish and she answered back in English is pretty accurate. I'm Puerto Rican and my mom talks to me and my sisters in Spanish and we answer back in English because we grew up in Tennessee. People missed the fact that this cut that they're watching is the extended digital release version. The theatrical version didn't include this 32:54 Troy's dinner scene, Gabriella's conversation with Taylor and the 2nd verse version of "Right Here, Right Now" which made much more sense but I guess they made it lighter/more "family friendly"

This was definitely the best movie to finish the trilogy of High School Musical. I unapologetically am always a fan of these movies. Scream was a damn good song and relatable as well. I really love how the first two films had a tv movie quality because they were Disney channel movies ofc but the third film was the first to be released theatrically and it gave a whole new cinematic look to the film which is very dope. I remember watching this in the cinema like it was yesterday! The room was so full (they definitely overbooked) there were people sitting all over the steps! There is a spin off called Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure from 2011. It takes place 1 year after this film and has Austin Butler in it. Both Ashley Tisdale and Austin Butler co-star in the 2009 movie Aliens in the Attic as well. She was also on Zack & Cody, which not only has an episode where they sing bop to the top from HSM and they joke about how they don’t think she looks like Ashley Tisdale, but there’s also an episode where Zac Efron appears.

HSM was my childhood! I wasn’t in high school yet when I watched the movies but I used to carry all these songs with me into high school. I actually recall that my mom surprised me with tickets to go see HSM live on stage with friends. Although it wasn’t broadway, I loved it! For HSM3, it was funny bc I remember I dragged my family to go see it in theatres 😂

I have a theory that Troy doesn't really like theater, but he likes to sing. Like you pointed out, he was always shoved into the stage, the initiative never came from him. He loves performing yeah, but he doesn't put in the work, he gets to the play in THE SECOND ACT????? and doesn't really care. So I don't think he loves it as much as Sharpay and Ryan and Kelsie. What I love about this movie is that we see the musical numbers as the stage production, since the theme of the production IS their senior year, so everything is put together as the stage play! And we even get to see a reprise of the songs as the actual stage play :) I thought that was so cool. Also Ryan is supposed to be gay but they couldn't openly show that because of The Mouse, but Kenny put in enough signs for us to get it. :) he was a very important character to me, and I believe Ryan and Kelsie going to the prom was ya old beard moment. Hehehe. I do really hope you guys get to see HSMTMTS but I get that if you don't. TV shows must be hell to edit. The series is already over! 👌

I remember seeing this in the theater when I was just a kid and it was just such a good experience such a good ending to the franchise/trilogy of films and all I can say is that the ending is satisfying but sad at the same time too I will miss the original cast so much. Zac, Venessa etc… Love High School Musical forever

I cannot express how happy I am that a channel I usually watch for more niche geeky stuff like superhero movies or other things has reacted to my all time fav guilty pleasure movies. I was obsessed with these as a kid and it's so heartwarming to see adults just having fun with these. The reactions are the ones we had in the theatres way back in 2008, it's cool to see.
