it takes a very open minded, energetic and brave soul to be able to up and move away to a new state for high school. It's extremely stressful because I went through it as a kid going into 7th grade and it was the worst time of my life (My parents getting divorced and our family being separated had something to do with my mindset as well). I didnt move out of the state, just across town, but no friends on that side of town. Kudos to ryan for slaying the move. Sounds like he is fitting right in! Go get em Ryan! And make that golf team too!

Firstly, the cats will most likely kill the snakes in time. Cats don't tend to see snakes as guests and if the snake is aggressive, the cats will defend their lair. Secondly, that door threshold will not stop a snake as they can navigate and climb very easily, not to mention they will squeeze through the smallest of openings. The generally rule is if a snake can flatten and squeeze its head through something, the rest will follow with not problem. You can try sprinkling peppermint oil around the door opening ( threshold ) or hot chile pepper flakes, but honestly the cats won't enjoy that and you already have a great deterrent in the cats themselves. I would recommend you get a photo book of snakes and start to learn to recognize the different species. Last thing you guys want to do is pick up one that is poisonous and get bitten ( even the small ones can be dangerous ). That being said, in most cases snakes aren't that bed even in the South, as they want little to do with humans, they're just looking for food and shelter and warmth. Lastly, this will not be your last video concerning an encounter with a snake ( as long as you live in Florida ). The next Donnelly T-shirt will say "Another day in which to Excel " on the front and have a picture of Alice on the back with a dead snake draped in her mouth. By the way, generally, the female cats are more aggressive towards critters, mice, rats, snakes , birds, etc.....so you probably sicked the wrong cat onto that snake.
