You may think curly is weird for his reason on having pulled the alarm, but it definitely fits his character as he is a little insane as you saw in curly snaps. 1 time he suggested the kids paint themselves as tigers and free all the animals at the zoo, and he actually went through with it. He also once disguised himself as a ghost bride to scare the crap out of the others simply because he couldn’t tell the story of the ghost bride, and the kids tied him up in response

This seems to be a parody of 12 angry men. The basic setup is the same, where a group of jurors sit in a room and vote on a verdict, and one juror votes not guilty. They all discuss the trial more thoroughly. It’s the same format. The part where Arnold stabs the pencil into the table is a direct reference to a scene where one of the jurors in 12 angry men stabs a knife into the table, a crucial piece of evidence.

That is how kids would realistically react to a fire alarm being pulled. If theres a fire alarm drill everyone is notified in advanced. With me being on the spectrum its still to loud and i cover my ears and get out quickly and just wait on the space spot.

I remember pulling the fire alarm once at my elementary school by accident before I even started school there. I think my mom and I were there to pick up my brother after the school day. But being the curious little kid I was, I saw this red shiny box on the wall and pulled it and the sound wasn't the bell sound that you hear in this episode. Instead, it was an earsplitting, sustained buzzing sound, and I remember crying because it was so loud. And my mom carried me out. I can safely say, I never went near those boxes again.

Hey Arnold has always been one of my favorites. And this episode in particular is one that always gets me 😂. And interestingly enough when you watch this episode again as you get older it’s definitely meant to be based on 12 Angry Men!

In my elementary school years, we had lots of fire drills (I liked them because we got to leave class and go outside), but I don't recall any instances of anyone pulling the alarm for no reason. However, at one point the alarm went off and the fire department actually came, and it turns out that an old air conditioner in part of the school overheated and released smoke that set off the detector, although it didn't actually start a fire.

You should react to the episode "Helga on the Couch" where Helga has to go to therapy. You learn a lot about her psyche, her family trauma, and why she has such an obsessive crush on Arnold that she tries to keep a secret. It's honestly kind of an emotional episode. You should also react to the episode "Veteran's Day," which has one particular scene that's so out of pocket and ridiculous that I need to see your reaction, lol. Nobody spoil what I'm talking about in the comments, but if you know, you know. There's also an episode called "Back to School," where Arnold's grandpa goes back to elementary school to get his diploma. I'd really recommend that one as well.

You can see that Curly has the potential to be involved throughout the episode. In Harold’s story, he is seen standing nearby with a fake smile. In Arnold’s story, his outfit can be seen in the person helping Eugene from the floor. There are closeups on his face when Arnold talk about someone wanting to frame Eugene.

In my school days in a school in Germany we also sometimes had fire alarm drills and it was also rather organized. We didn't go out in a straight line but the whole class stayed together and went to the schoolyard where we waited for the teacher who then made sure that every student in the class was present. Then we waited for the drill to be over and be told that we could go back in our classes. Also we have glass boxes with red frames and a black button inside on the walls where the glass needs to be punched through and then the button needs to be pressed to turn on the fire alarm. Unfortunately in a vocational school I witnessed a few times that the fire alarm was set off although there was no fire and it even happened in rather short time intervals. But I think it was taken rather light-heartedly because students often behaved ill in that school.

Eugene is an accident prone kid throughout show he is seen tripping over himself a lot, if he had pulled the fire alarm it would have been based on accident and he would have most likely admitted to it. This is how you know Eugenes innocent because despite his unfortunate nature of being (what the show refers to him as a Jinx) he's actually a really nice kid throughout the show.

I did accidentally pull the fire alarm on my elementary school, the alarms lock wasn't secure or broken and came open for a student to pull it. Since the school locks them to prevent false alarms

One thing I wonder is how Principal Wartz immediately “knew” it was a false alarm. What if it wasn’t and he was yelling for kids to return into a burning building?! And I’m pretty sure the fire department still has to come and check things out before people can go back inside. This school appears to have zero fire protocol which is just beyond absurd.

This reminds me of when I was in middle school back in 2007, where someone caused a bomb scare by writing that there was a bomb in the building on the wall in the boys' bathroom. People didn't really care about pulling fire alarms when I was in school, bomb scares took the place of that.

I’d say anyone who pulls a fire alarm for pranks or stupid reasons would get suspended or get in-school suspension. Looking back, I’m not proud of what I did. When I was a sophomore in high school, I pulled a fire alarm out of spite. All that because I didn’t want to do schoolwork. Dumb move, I know. I ended up with in-school suspension for that.

Hey I have 2 stories regarding the fire alarm and fire drills. First off I am legally blind… Well one day I got into my science class. I arrived early to put my stuff down and then I left real quick to go to the restroom. Well, I of course the first time I have to go to the bathroom the freaking fire drill alarm goes off. LOL. I didn’t make it to the restroom. I had to run back to classs so that the teacher didn’t worry. And one time I went to school early and there was a real fire issue. I found someone and we walked out together LOL!!!

To be fair, most adult authoritive figures in kids shows and kid cartoons typically portray adults in comedic fashion. Take "Saved by the Bell" for example. I don't know if you've ever reacted to episodes of those, as this is the first reaction of yours that I've seen, but it often shows the kids on that show getting away with stuff all the time, while making the principal seem like an idiot imo half the time. Or even if you go back and watch the original Peanut cartoons, a lot of their episodes, specials, movies and etc will often just have the adults speaking like they're not even human by saying "Wah wah wah." I think a lot of this is simply to appeal to younger audiences honestly, while making the characters seem more in control of the story versus how it would go in real life. I agree with you if this happened in real life, the principal and other faculty staff would have more say over what happens, and the kids would have little to no say in the results of the investigation because they're just kids. However, I get what you're saying though. Thanks for doing this reaction, as I'll subscribe to you to check out more, as your reaction was fun to watch. It sort of reminded me of the time I saw a reaction video to a GI Joe episode by two ex military veterans online that was interesting to watch. I remember one guy in their comment section criticized them for taking the cartoon too seriously, but they just replied back saying they're just looking at it from a military veteran perspective, and merely pointing out all the inaccuracies of the episode for fun. There's nothing wrong with that imo, and I always find reactions like these interesting when you have people that react to various movies and TV shows that involves the profession of the person that's reacting to said content like you are now with this episode if that makes sense.

I don't believe in Jury duty.... Just like this episode, A jury could all agree whether a person is guilty or innocent just because they want to get paid and get out of the court room. Also they could judge a person based on how a person looks instead of the evidence presented

I don't know about how school budgets work, but shouldn't there be a plastic casing over the fire alarm so that there's an extra step needed to pull the alarm? Then again, If it did, then the episode wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Yes. In most cases it was either accidental, or it was a student that didn’t know what they were doing - I also had a situation where a student accidentally did that while playing a game in PE.
