What a great story. Knowing CPR is so important. So glad that his friend was able to save his life. Hopefully he continues to enjoy a healthy and long life.

Although the brain is only about 2% of the total body weight in humans, it receives 15-20% of the body's blood supply. Because brain cells will die if the supply of blood which carries oxygen is stopped, the brain has top priority for the blood. This is why keeping that blood pumping throughout the body via CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator before professional medical help arrives is so important.

I understand what this mother feels. My daughter was a senior last year as well. She was in the hospital from July 2023 to December 2023. She spent 163 days in the hospital from getting a blood infection which caused her to become sepsis. She spent two months on the ventilator. They finally placed a trach and we came home. After all of that, she was able to go to prom and she walked across the stage at graduation! Total miracle. God is good!

My twin sister and her daughter have this condition and they now have internal defibrillators implanted. My mother also had the condition and died suddenly when she was only 28 yo not long after delivering her fourth child. I think parents should have their children screened before putting them in sports. It’s so much better to take an ounce of caution than live with the consequences of losing your loved one. It’s important for everyone in the family, friends and schools know CPR and practice it regularly. At the same time let the individual live their lives and don’t treat them like a cardiac cripple. Live aware but don’t impair 😊
@TheRebeLLynn2 ай бұрын
They should teach CPR in middle school gym class. CPR is a work out. And is helpful thing to know.

Did you ever take a cpr class
@TheRebeLLynnАй бұрын
@@wilburweezorak6516 yes, actually, I have taken a CPR class. A lot of them because you have recertification. The class isn’t much of a workout but DOING CPR is a workout that I have done MANY times. And if they have the good trainers it can be a workout to do good, well timed, chest compressions for 2 minutes.
This is why it’s so important to learn First aid and CPR as soon as you can as you can save someone life with it

Mother is alpha and lives in denial. Her last words make it clear. There is nothing wrong with you." YES lady, there is. It's ok. You can say it. She thinks she can talk through everything like a alpha NJ mom- like Carmela Soprano. Asking if he can go skydiving is very immature. He can die. Does she not understand this? Yes, he is active, but he needs to adapt or next time he might not so lucky. Then she will blame Doctors- "They said he could..."
