Jon did what was needed his command was disobeyed, he would have lost all respect and showed weakness if he gave slynt mercy .

And by doing that Jon gave justice to Ned. Slynt betrayed Ned and cause his death by going aginst king Robert order for Cersei gold and order the king gaurd to kill Ned's mans

Before you start feeling too badly for Janos Slynt being beheaded, please remember that he was the Gold Cloak who happily stabbed a BABY to death because he was one of Robert Baratheon's bastard sons and King Jeoffrey did not want anyone being able to lay claim to his throne Dude had this coming
@rafasandovalАй бұрын
He also: • Commanded the betrayal of Ned (orchestrated by Little Finger) • Convinced Thorne to allow Jon's expedition to Craster's, because it would probably result in his death. • Cowered in the pantry with Gilly during the battle against the wildlings. • Just generally antagonized Jon & Sam

16:22 Not obeying the Lord Commander is treason. Treason is punishable by death. Also, this was a complement of making the point of being fair, after Alister promotion and breaking a possible mutinies.
@Finians_MancaveАй бұрын
Ned beheaded a Night's Watch deserter in the very first episode, because he was Warden of the North and it was his duty. Did you hold it against him? Jon is as honorable as Ned, which is why he was elected Lord Commander. Also Slynt confessed to being a coward ("always afraid") -- to his Lord Commander no less. By doing this he admitted that he was nothing but a liability to the Night's Watch; no one there would ever be able to rely on him. Finally, remember that both Ned and Robb beheaded men they considered treasonous because it was expected of them (as Warden of the North and King of the North, respectively). Why should Jon, as the Lord Commander, be held to a different standard?
@fernandof.2225Ай бұрын
Another excellent reaction. I love when you lean left to avoid being "beheaded" :) Jon had to do it or nobody would respect him anymore. His father told him that if he sentenced somebody to death that he had to be the one doing the beheading (s01e01)

Don't worry about Jon, Stef. It was necessary for him to kill Janos. If he hadn't he would have lost the respect of all of the other men and would have given Alister an opportunity to usurp him as Lord Commander. The rules are different when you "take the Black".

This was as close to "Book"Jon as the show gets. Jon Snow in the books is calculated and stern, but in a thoughtful way! He does not play! He does not FUCKING PLAY!!! Ultimately, if you think about it, Jon realized that The Wall isn't meant for cowards, so he removed weakness AND also, he beheaded the person who betrayed his father, Ned, in Kings Landing.

By now you know. Jon really had no choice. He had to execute Lord Janos for refusing an order. It's why Ser Allister stood aside and allowed the execution. Jon would have been judged too weak and been over-thrown.

The funny thing about the faceless men and Jaquin (the main long haired guy), he uses a lot of the same vocabularly actually as Syrio.. Her former sword fighting instructer in season 1. Its pretty much thought at this point Syrio was a faceless man and was grooming Arya or seeing her potential even Also was Jon supposed to back down from confrontation?? =/ that's what Mormont would have done too probably if he was still alive
@HoeechАй бұрын
I still hold to the idea that Syrio Forel and Jaqen H'ghar were the same person. We never saw Syrio die and I have a hard time believing Meryn Trant was up to the task, even if Syrio only had a wooden sword. If and when GRRM finally releases his next volume, I'm hoping this theory turns out to be correct

When Dany took over the city she took over all of the subjects former slaves and masters. When the son of the harpy murdered her soldier there was no trial set to prove his guilt even if it was a mock trial or w/e. Her follower took that away from her so that upset the former masters and to give them justice she had to put her follower to death which upset the former slaves. To please one group would upset the other and the guy she beheaded betrayed her so that is pretty much what happened . If there was a trial the masters would have been pissed those that support the sons of the harpy so it was basically a lose lose but the image of the law would have been upheld.

Your reaction was hilarious but also a little baffling - did you think the nights watch lived in some cozier world from the rest of got or something lol like of course john in a position of leadership would have to deal with people like Janos that way. what choice did he have here. Being noble and moral in this world also blatantly requires a hard edge and decisiveness which Jon had to show here now he is leader. You have seen Jon kill plenty of people before, this was not so different. to survive his world you have to be that way, willing to kill if you have to and willing to make hard choices that go against what you want to do - its weird to me you dont understand that at this point.

There is only one true god, for every single religious person, so for them personally there is no other god, so all religious people say there is only one god, it is weird, of all the 3000 gods in our world, which one is the true god if they all claim that only 1 is true, it breaks down to the probability of none of them being true
