HIGH SPEED! Amtrak Northeast Corridor Action at Princeton Junction 7.5.24

Featured in this video is 20+ high speed Amtrak trains traveling well over 100mph at Princeton Junction station on the Northeast Corridor! Also include in this video are a few select New Jersey Transit trains that gave us good hornshows. Lots of friendly engineers!

The way I see it, none of these trains are doing 150 mph. The Acela at 2:24 & 4:33, 5:09 would be doing around 160 kmph or 100 mph and a good one at 3:41 of a conventional train probably doing nearly 160 kmph. The rest of them are conventional speeds of around 130 kmph or 80 mph. Nicely documented footage of various train kinds. Cool footage at 3:24 of the two trains. Great shots of the loco 5:50 and 6:27!

Thanks man! This area is graded for 150mph for the acela but you’re right they may not be going that fast. There was high heat this day so that would definitely slow everything down a bit
