High-speed chase ends in East County San Diego with suspect in custody

A high-speed chase ended peacefully in San Diego’s East County Wednesday morning. The suspect is now in custody.
The chase was first reported around 7:00 a.m. and at one point reach speeds up to 100 mph. The suspect traveled across the East County through the Santee area, driving on SR-52, I-8 and traveling on El Cajon Blvd, Ridgefield Ave and at one point eastbound on Fletcher Pkwy.

I’ll never understand what people feel the need to add multiple charges to their records when they’re clearly out of options. Instead of the original domestic violence charges, now he’s got multiple felonies not just traffic citations which will add years and fines to his sentence. Whenever there's a chase like this, slower traffic keeps right and the flow is nice and smooth. On normal days, traffic gets jammed, all because of a couple of idiots not passing in the passing lane.

You can outrun cars, but not the helicopters. Plus, can’t say for sure, but considering he had the San Diego PD copter on him, he drove into an area where the sheriff copter would come in. They are equipped with FLIR. Gonna be pretty hard to get away. What you don’t see there is how many police departments were participating in the chase and surrounding him. The other thing is many area neighborhood are in divisions, so the only way out will be how you went in or stay on the main roads. No way out unless he can break away on foot, but not likely once they are all over him.
