We are very happy that you have been keeping your eyes on the AK-917🤗☺ For the 120A ESC on carbon fiber RTR, it can make the car have two modes. When the ESC connects with channel 2, it would be normal mode; When the ESC connects with channel 3 and turn on the button of channel 3, it would become turbo mode, which would increase the acceleration. I pressed channel 3 and 4. 4 does light. 3 nothing. I moves the esc to slot 3 and pressed channel 3 on the controller. It lights up. But no drive. So confused to be honest. I have contacted Rlaalro to ask for more info and will let you know! 😊👌

try some foam tires. they are wider and have better traction. also check that the servo saver isnt too weak. maybe at high speed when you turn the wheels they dont turn because servo saver spring isnt strong enough maybe? turn steering rate down. rlarrlo has a few things you can buy in aluminum for this car maybe them front suspension pieces would be worth it. im not sure what else to check. just spitballing some ideas with ya.

Hiya. Yes I have tried foams. Video to come. Steering servo was checked and was fine but thanks as that's a good idea. I'm going to try another shell and see if the same thing happens at 120+ kph. If so then it's mechanical. If it doesn't happen then it's aerodynamic. 😊👍🏼

Yes it's the only thing that make sense. Both crashes are identical and I had no issues on other runs.... Up until over 121.. 😊

What version do you have? On 4S it sounds like a driveshaft is resonating. If that's what's happening, you could loose traction on the associated wheel. Try running the car on a bench, while you listen/feel any vibrations.

I feel most times there is more to learn from bad days and experiences than in perfect, nothing ever goes wrong KZbin videos. Rather i break it than 100's break it. Yes that's an idea. I did reduce the front ride height and increase the rear but maybe a little more tape at the front may help. I'll try it out. Thanks so much for the advice. 😊👍🏼

John looks slippery but would expect it to be double sticky because of all the rubber..such a pity mate I'm really enjoying your videos on this car,,get a gyro mate I've ordered one for mine still waiting for delivery and I'm not even in the first batch so god knows when I will get it now

John have you tried running foam tires on it instead of the rubber tires. Also not sure if the car comes with one but on my speed run car which is a modified WL Toys 124017, I put an inexpensive gyro in it for the steering and the difference is night and day with how much better it will hold a line.

Hello mate. Yes the new video coming up i show the foam tires. Wasn't a success, however no crash and powersliding constantly at over 100 kph was fun! 😁😁 I have just bought a dumbo rc with gyro so I will fit that and see how we get on. If it is as I suspect an aerodynamic/downforce issue, then at least the gyro should keep it straight. I will mount an onboard camera this time though. 👌👌👌👌

Well you got a couple of solid runs John! I think what your saying about too much down force on the rear is correct,and in effect causing the front end to come up. Maybe a 3D printed splitter in the lower front will help or a mid fin for the middle in the rear. Maybe both. I think your right in that assessment though. All I know is that these cars rip!🏎️💨💯✨

Hope you’re well John. Just a process of elimination I’m afraid. Uneven diff action? Stick some higher rated oil in there. Tire ballooning? Run foams. Aero imbalance? Tweak the body. Running an onboard camera will no doubt help!

Good morning. Ah yes. That gear. The one that they insisting on gluing with the strongest glue on the planet. I can only explain my solution and maybe an alternative. I don't know if it's all still on the car. I had to use heat but I had it all out of the car and the differential casing was part of it. I heating the spur gear a lot and finally I was able to use a large screwdriver and pry it off with force. I didn't want to try and undo the screw in case I chewed it up. If its in the car then you can do like on the video Rlaarlo released on Instagram. @rlaarlo showed getting it off. Of course they had the whole unit out of the car and no threadlock. But the prying should work. I hope you manage it as I remember how frustrating it was. Good luck. 🍀🤞🤞👌

I would lower the front of the car down, then stiffen the rear shocks with the shock adjuster wound down. The down force on the rear of the body is causing the rear suspension to squat, that in turn is lifting the front of the car & making steering to light.

Hiya. Yep will do. I had lowered the front and raised the rear and am a little concerned by stiffening the rear due to the tram lines. Saying that I could firm them up a little. 😁👍🏼 Thanks for the info!

Ok other runs i did. And it was drifting to the left because it has a tiny more camber. Hence why I used the right lane. 😊👍🏼

Looks like they copy the Porsche 917 aerodynamic issue as well. LOL. I've been waiting for this video, big thanks. Your assessment is on point. A 1/10 scale RC, unlike the Felcony, is more sensitive to track surface, air resistance, and tire ballooning. We can see it lost traction and likely hit an uneven surface at that speed. Tips: If you let go of the throttle completely, you can't make correction because of the lost of traction. Try to taping on the throttle, you can practice when you are turning, you can see you can control the car much better at corning.

Ha ha! Yeah I read about the Porsche issues. 😂😂 I was pretty sure I was holding throttle up until the wall impact as on previous runs whenever it kicked out, it always straightened up. But at this speed it was for sure what I suspected. I have spare parts now so will continue to problem solve. I do have footage of me running later on the same day with foams but as we didn't go faster I was not going to release it. But I think there is more to learn from it. Especially as after 90+ kph i was wheel spinning. All the way too 100% throttle, yet the car wasn't accelerating. However it was swinging left to right and always straightening itself up. Really strange actually. In fact it kind of looking like there was a little more power transfer at the front. 55 / 45 rear. Because it always straightened itself up. And the rear didn't have enough overpowering grip to push the front around. Which therefore makes sense that at higher speeds we were loosing front traction with the original tires. I'll edit the video and you can all see what I mean. 😊😊😊

Wind, track or the driver 🤪 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol That car should be well over 80mph especially the carbon fiber RTR (on 4S at that!) Bars&tone RC got the brushless alloy chassis (weaker electronics) got his over 80mph 83mph to be exact,) on the street, with just a gear and pinion change; and foam tires from EBay. Running on 3S. No issues. Yet all carbon fiber guys, can’t even get theirs to 80mph. And one that did, it was running on 4S; barely getting it over 80mph. That track (all bumpy) definitely slows you down, and disturbs the steering. Wind plays a factor too, no doubt, but what it all comes down to is proper gearing; seems like. Bars&tone RC had issues matching the set up that he ended up using. Pinion and spur gear that he chose (included) did NOT match, without mods. I emailed the company and their “suggestion chart” didn’t even have his combo, hence is why it didn’t match. I’m curious now how the carbon fiber version will run, using his set up; on 3S. If it can’t reach over 83mph, there’s a problem. He seem to have the fastest run , so far. And that’s on the alloy chassis, and weaker motor/ESC, with 3S batt. Carbon fiber guys are slackin’ !!! 😝 haha.

To me it sounded like it powered down too fast and too muck brake came into play. Turn down th breaking and remove any drag brake if you have any dialed in. let the car coast to a stop a lot slower.

Yeah it's fast. And the sound is infectious. I just want one more run. You will see on the next video as I put on foams which didn't help top speed. However allowed 100% throttle and therefore the sound. 😊👍🏼
