Wow, 10 jump jets. I don't play MWO, but I've watched pretty much every video of Baradul playing it. 10 seems excessive. Also potentially hilarious. Like a rocket mech.

@János Kaszás It's hard to play fast lights well. You can't take any damage before you fall apart. And you can't take your time to do things when in a fight. This is the reason why lights are so hard to use. and why most new players prefer Assaults if they get the chance. Assaults allow you much more breathing room for you to figure out what you want to do in a fire fight. I think Heavy mechs are the Sweet spot between toughness and the ability to move around. Assaults normally don't have the speed to get out of trouble once your in it. But lights have a similar Problem. In that they don't have enough structure/armor to get out of trouble once your in it. And a Good aim counters your lights speed. While Good aim will not counter an Assaults structure/armor. And an assault can at least still fight for a little while. Compared to a light which you are died right a way.

I noticed that, too 😀. Highest match score in both rounds, and only out-damaged by one teammate in a Marauder in the first round in one of the lightest mechs available. Mad respect.

That's a pretty common occurrence now. I got yell at once because my annihilator was too slow. Apparantly because I couldn't bend the laws of time he got focused and killed with only 60ish dmg

He has something of a ... reputation in the MWO community, being a sore winner/loser being one of them. He's also infamous for constantly demanding nerfs to every weapon other than LRMs and defends the "LRM assault in the back, never push or share armor" mentality.

I play a similar build on the 17 ^^ But I usually put the masc in the head, just because if it gets crit your head is probably about to blow anyway :P in the center it can get crit - obviously you dont have alot of structure there either so the same "you're probably dead anyway" reasoning also applies here - yet headshots are so much rarer than stray machinegun shots to the center ^^

While we are on the topic of challenges with lightmechs: How about one where you use a Piranha (any type) with only your pick of light or micro lasers but you may NOT fire them at once. So you must shoot 1 click 1 laser (speedclicking of course allowed and mandatory). And of course only using 1 mousebutton at the same time! I mean you can use machineguns but the same applies there then of course too, 1 click = firing 1 machinegun. Of course the usual 500 dmg and 1 Kill as goal! I would allow other mechs as well as long as no missile weapons are used and nothing heavier than light lasers and machineguns in ballistics.

Mac Brown I haven’t played the game in a long time, but from what I can tell the SPL justification is more more constant dps, and the SL are more heat efficient per damage point than a ML, and sync well with the SPL in terms of range, using slight less tonnage also.
