I rode these elevators back in June (I believe number 3 going up and 1 going down). It was an amazing experience but with sensitive ears, they really need to slow these things down some.

@@patricknedz Yeah, society does not cater to autistic people with sensory issues such as myself. It’s really sad. I’d love to visit Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing someday but flying is a huge problem for me.

@@dawnm1292 never heard of this thing closing for weather. This building is designed to sway in the wind. The elevators normally go about 2000 feet per minute, on windy days it can go around 1200 feet per minute.

@@iLoVeSD70Ace35 if you have any type of disability, let the attendant know, they should give accommodations because of ada. Not sure if they can slow the elevators down from the control panel or if it has to be done in the machine room up top. Sometimes they can be done from inside the car. They should allow you to ride by your self too, it depends on how they designed it. Tell them you are sensitive to the speed of the elevators but still want to get a view from the top. You can also contact the observatory people online and ask them what they can do for you.
